    Homey place with excellent staff

I moved my grandma here and I'm very glad I did - it's a unique, homey place with excellent staff, great food, lots of activities (speakers, bible studies, morning exercise), a posted calendar and even a beauty shop. The private apartments are nice but bedrooms felt underwhelming and it's expensive, though more help is available and she's made many friends.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with consistent praise for programming, staff, social atmosphere, and the general living environment, tempered primarily by concerns about cost and some underwhelming bedroom accommodations. Multiple reviewers highlighted the breadth and quality of the programs offered — including speakers, bible studies, and morning exercise classes — and noted that the facility posts its activity calendar everywhere, which suggests good communication and a structured activity schedule. The presence of many activities and a clearly visible calendar indicates an organized approach to resident engagement.

Care and staff quality emerge as a clear strength. Reviews repeatedly describe the staff as excellent and note that more help is available when needed. That combination suggests residents feel supported and that caregiving resources are accessible. Several comments also indicate the community is particularly well suited for older family members (one reviewer explicitly called it a "great situation for Grandma"), implying staff and services meet the expectations of families seeking supportive senior living.

Facilities and amenities are mixed in reviewers' eyes. Positive notes include private apartment options and an on-site beauty shop, contributing to convenience and resident autonomy. The dining experience was described positively with multiple mentions of "good food." However, reviewers also pointed out that bedrooms are merely "OK" or underwhelming, meaning that while apartments and common areas may be satisfactory, some private living spaces could be dated, smaller, or less impressive than expected. The community was also called "unique" and a "wonderful place," suggesting distinctive features or a special culture that residents appreciate.

Activities, spiritual life, and social atmosphere are recurring strengths. Beyond formal programs and exercise classes, reviewers emphasize a homey atmosphere and the ease of making friends — indicators that social needs are well met. The explicit mention of bible studies and speakers shows there is attention to both spiritual and intellectual engagement. The combination of structured programming, frequent activities, and friendly staff appears to foster a connected community where residents form relationships.

The most significant downside raised across the reviews is cost. The facility is described as "expensive," which is an important consideration for prospective residents and families weighing options. Aside from price, the only specific facility concern noted is that bedrooms feel underwhelming, which may be a point that management could address through refreshes, renovations, or clearer marketing about room features so expectations align with reality.

In summary, the reviews paint Steeple View as a warm, well-staffed community with robust programming, good dining, convenient amenities like a beauty shop, and a social environment that helps residents make friends and feel at home. Care appears reliable with additional help available, and the visible activity calendar signals good organization. Prospective residents should weigh these strengths against the higher cost and consider inspecting bedroom accommodations in person to judge whether the private apartments meet their standards.

    About Steeple View

Steeple View is an independent senior living community with a focus on Christian values, but they welcome people of all faiths. The place offers seniors a quiet and safe environment where they've got the freedom to do what they enjoy without worrying about home maintenance. The activity program includes choir sessions, Bible studies, gardening, group games, line dancing, Saturday morning coffee socials, movie nights, monthly trips, and even dart-ball, so residents can stay as active as they want and meet new friends. There are volunteer opportunities and lots of ways to get involved, which really helps folks make meaningful connections and keep busy.

The campus has open lobby areas, a community dining room that fits 150 guests, big lounge spaces, and a community center complete with large craft rooms and a two-story chapel full of sunlight from stained-glass windows. There's a library, computer center, exercise room, and woodworking shop for those who like to keep their hands and minds busy. Residents also enjoy raised garden beds outside beside a patio with a firepit and gas grill, and when it comes to eating, meal options come from "Home Cuisine," "Kerry's Kitchen," and the "Open Flame Restaurant"-and that's something most folks appreciate, having a hot meal ready or a place to chat with neighbors. For those interested in keeping up appearances or just needing a trim, The Shear Point Hair Salon and Seasons Salon have appointments, and the beauty/barber shop and a relaxation studio are both on the second floor, with massage services available from Living Light Solutions by appointment.

Steeple View is run as a not-for-profit, and any money made is put right back into maintaining and improving the community. A volunteer board of directors keeps an eye on residents' welfare and helps make decisions. The underground garage with a car wash bay keeps cars safe from the weather, which is something some folks look for. Security and independence mean a lot here, and the grounds stay tidy so residents don't have to worry about chores. The many group events, social gatherings, and spiritual activities are meant to help people grow and stay healthy, both in body and spirit, no matter how involved they choose to be. Memory care and assisted living are available at other locations in Wisconsin for those who might need extra help in the future. The operational hours for the front office are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Steeple View does everything with a steady focus on Christian mission, friendship, and seniors' well-being.
