    About Park Place

Park Place sits on about a third of an acre and offers a big two-story building with a lot of space, about 8,300 square feet in total, which really means you get twenty-three bedrooms and nine bathrooms plus things like a large kitchen with a commercial range and a walk-in cooler, a dining room, a living room with a big picture window, a pantry, and walk-in closets, and there's partial unfinished basement space too, and you get eleven bedrooms on the main floor and twelve more upstairs, and they've even got three separate staircases leading up to activity areas on the upper level, so there's room for all kinds of needs if you want to use some rooms for staff, offices, gathering, or more bedrooms. The last use was as a communal or assisted living place, so there are things like handicap ramps, multiple entries, a big open porch, an enclosed porch for three-season use, and features for accessibility, so you could keep on with this type of use or renovate it for something different like apartments, group care, or another business, and the listing mentions both private and semi-private rooms with cable TV, and staff who could help residents with things like moving around or monitoring meals and medications.

The property's got city sewer and water, though those are turned off right now, and natural gas runs the hot water heat, but since it hasn't been used lately, those systems might need work, same goes for the electricals. The parking area is graveled and is off the alley, so there's parking for cars, and you'll find trees and a lawn that could easily work for outdoor activities, and the lot is about 0.33 acres or 125 by 120 feet, with several mature trees for some nice shade. The building's exterior is composite siding and Masonite, with a roof made of composition shingles, and most windows look to be in usable shape, with a solid poured concrete and stone foundation underneath, but the outside could use some cleaning. There's no garage, and there's no fireplace, but most flooring is carpet, vinyl, or wood.

It went for $65,000 in a July 2024 sale, though estimates go higher, and there's lots of potential whether you want to update it for a group living use, maybe make apartments, or use it for another idea that fits the size and location, and it's zoned as a single-family residence but used for communal purposes in the past. The building's got easy downtown access, and you can walk to shopping or restaurants, plus the Chequamegon National Forest and recreation trails are close by, and it's on a city street so it's easy for visitors to come by. Staff used to be available 24 hours for emergencies, and meals and social activities happened onsite, but right now nobody's living in it, and all services are off. The owner is an individual, and the place is linked with Northwoods Realty, with other services from Coldwell Banker Homesale Realty. There's a lot of character and curb appeal because of the big porches and old style, since it was built back in 1920. You won't find a lot of places with this much room for the price, and while it needs some work and cleanup, it could become whatever you want, depending on your needs.
