    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive with repeated praise for the facility's atmosphere, staff, and the quality of daily care, but there are isolated negative reports indicating variability in some residents' experiences. A large proportion of reviewers emphasize a clean, attractive, and home-like environment — often mentioning a beautiful facility, sunroom, tasteful holiday decorations, and well-maintained common areas. Many reviewers describe the building as safe, welcoming, and comfortable for family gatherings. Several comments specifically note long-term residents and families who feel confident recommending the facility.

Staff and care quality are the most frequently praised aspects. Numerous reviews call out “amazing,” “wonderful,” and “attentive” staff who are compassionate, respectful, and responsive. Reviewers highlight personalized daily care, timely medical updates to families, accompaniment to medical appointments, and a family-like approach that provides peace of mind. Management and directors receive repeated positive mention for being caring and engaged. Several reviewers describe staff going “above and beyond,” exhibiting patience and dignity toward residents, and maintaining good communication with families.

Facilities and accommodations receive mixed but generally positive notes. Multiple reviewers report private, large rooms with private half-baths and the ability to furnish rooms with personal belongings, contributing to a home-like feel. Conversely, a subset of reviewers mention very small or “tiny” rooms and situations where the shower is located outside the room. This discrepancy suggests variability in unit types or availability. Overall the building itself is viewed positively as clean and well-kept, though at least one review raised concerns about inconsistent cleaning practices.

Dining and activities show a predominantly favorable pattern with enjoyable meals and a variety of activities offered without pressure. Many reviewers appreciate the meal service and the social/activity programming, and some explicitly say there’s “lots for residents” to do. However, one strongly negative review reports awful food comprised of microwaved and frozen items (fish sticks, chicken tenders) and states a lack of organized activities that resulted in a resident staying isolated in her room. This contrasts with the majority of feedback and appears to be an outlier that may reflect an isolated time period, staffing issue, or subjective expectation.

Staffing and management present the clearest split in reviews. While most emphasize effective, compassionate, and well-organized staff and directors, at least one detailed negative review alleges understaffing, poorly trained personnel, ineffective leadership by two managers, missed medication doses or late medications, and overall neglect. That review culminates in a “not recommended” position, standing in contrast to multiple other reviewers who highly recommend the facility. The presence of both strong praise and a strong complaint points to possible inconsistency — either across time, shifts, or with particular staff members.

Cost and value are mentioned by a few reviewers; one notes the facility is more expensive, while another says the rate is competitive. Given the wide range of opinions, prospective residents and families should confirm current pricing and what services are included.

In summary, the dominant impression across reviews is that Our House Senior Living - Reedsburg Assisted Care provides a clean, attractive, and safe environment with caring, attentive staff and meaningful activities that create a family-like atmosphere for many residents. However, there are isolated but serious negative reports concerning room size, occasional cleanliness, food quality, staffing levels, training, medication timeliness, and activity availability. These conflicting reports suggest the facility generally performs well but may have occasional or situational lapses. Recommended next steps for families considering this community are to visit in person, tour multiple room types to confirm size and bathroom configurations, observe meal service and activity programming, ask about current staffing levels and staff training, and inquire specifically about medication administration processes and cleaning schedules to ensure consistency with the positive experiences reported by most reviewers.

Our House Senior Living - Reedsburg Assisted Care sits in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and belongs to the Our House Senior Living network found in many towns across the state, and the staff here are known to be friendly, helpful, and kind, which makes residents feel welcome and supported every day, so when someone moves in, they can expect a staff member to be ready to help with things like getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, managing medicines, or even helping with insulin if needed. The community allows adults aged 55 and over to live as independently as possible, and the trained staff stay on hand around the clock in case of emergencies, so families often find it brings peace of mind. There are 31 residences here-some are single rooms and some are semi-private rooms-each residence has big windows to let in light, its own closet, and a private half-bathroom that has handrails, and all hallways have hand railings for safety and all areas are accessible for wheelchairs. Residents can bring their own things to decorate their rooms and some pets are allowed, so people find it easier to settle in and feel at home.

There's a dedicated memory care program for folks living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia, and the building design helps prevent wandering and confusion-something that families with memory care needs pay close attention to. The people at Reedsburg Assisted Care have activities to keep them social, active, and engaged, whether that's enjoying the large family-style dining room for three balanced meals a day with food made from good ingredients, gathering in the sun room or the commons area by the big double-sided fireplace, or sitting out on the porch or patio by the raised flower gardens. There's a beauty and barber shop so everyone can keep up with haircuts or a shave without needing to leave, and a television lounge for watching shows with neighbors. They've got a program called "Our Life" that plans social and physical activities to keep people from feeling isolated, and the life enrichment programs help maintain mental and emotional health. For convenience, there's parking on-site for cars and arranged transportation for outings. The apartments and common rooms are cleaned by the housekeeping staff, and they also handle laundry and linens, so residents won't need to worry about those chores. The staff regularly work with outside healthcare providers to make sure care plans fit each resident, so support can be adjusted as needs change. The community is state licensed and information is available in a detailed brochure, so if someone wants details like addresses or more about what can be expected, they can look that up.
