    Bright facility with compassionate staff

I placed my mom here and am so grateful - the facility is bright, brand-new, impeccably clean with spacious studio-style rooms, beautiful gardens and secure memory-care areas. The staff (led by Tracey) are compassionate, consistent and treated my mom like family - excellent communication, thoughtful activities/outings, good meals and very respectful hospice and medical care. Not perfect - occasional staffing limits and a few unfriendly people - but overall outstanding care; I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Serenity Villa Assisted Living is strongly positive. The dominant and most frequently mentioned theme is the quality of care: reviewers consistently describe staff as caring, compassionate, professional, and deeply invested in residents’ wellbeing. Numerous family members report that staff became a second family, delivered dignified and respectful care, and provided excellent medical and hospice services. Several reviewers explicitly stated that the facility provided the "best care," and many expressed gratitude for the emotional relief and comfort the staff provided during difficult times, including the pandemic and end-of-life care.

Staff and caregiving are repeatedly highlighted as the facility’s greatest strength. Praise centers on attentive, tender, and consistent caregivers who know residents and families personally, prioritize individual needs, and communicate well. Management and leadership — frequently mentioning owner/manager Tracey/Tracy and a supportive director — are seen as engaged, accessible, and instrumental in maintaining staff morale and a family-oriented culture. Communication with families is characterized as excellent by many reviewers, who report smooth transitions, collaborative care planning, immediate problem resolution, and confidence in medical oversight.

The physical plant and environment also receive high marks. Multiple reviewers describe the facility as impeccably maintained, clean, newer, and homelike, with spacious, comfortable rooms and an open-concept layout that supports socializing. Outdoor areas, gardens, patios with plants, and scenic landscaping are repeatedly praised and contribute to a peaceful atmosphere. The dining spaces and common areas are described as attractive and well-appointed; several reviews call out a good cook, a well-balanced menu, and home-cooked meals. Safety measures — including a locked building for residents with dementia and accessible layouts — are appreciated by families seeking secure memory care.

Activities and social life are generally positive but show some variability in reviewers’ experiences. Many families noted a robust calendar of activities such as bingo, carnivals, outings, and social events; reviewers appreciated large common areas and documented activities (for example, photo albums). However, a portion of reviewers felt activity offerings could be increased or diversified; some said their loved ones did not get enough stimulation or that activities were limited. This variation suggests program strength but also potential inconsistency in how frequently or how fully activities are delivered.

Dining and amenities are commonly described in favorable terms: the on-site cook, pleasant dining room, snacks, and balanced menus are recurrent positives. Rooms are noted as roomy and comfortable, with options for semi-private arrangements mentioned. Value is another recurrent theme — many reviewers felt the pricing was competitive and that the all-inclusive model offered good value for the level of care and services provided.

Areas for improvement raised by multiple reviewers cluster around staffing levels and staff consistency. Several families requested a higher staff-to-resident ratio and more staff training, citing occasional staff unavailability, inconsistent friendliness, or lapses in respect. While many reviewers emphasize that problems were resolved quickly and that staff were exceptional, these comments indicate that staffing consistency and additional training could further improve resident experience. Other less frequent but notable concerns include highway noise for some rooms, the facility’s convenience of location for certain family members, and limited room availability at times.

In summary, Serenity Villa Assisted Living earns strong overall recommendations from families. Strengths are concentrated in compassionate, professional caregiving; effective and caring leadership; clean, well-maintained and attractive facilities; secure memory-care features; and positive dining and social environments. The primary areas to watch are staffing levels/consistency and ensuring a consistently robust activity program. Taken together, the reviews portray a home-like, well-run community with dedicated staff and high family satisfaction, while also identifying a few practical improvements that could elevate the resident experience further.

    About Serenity Villa Assisted Living

Serenity Villa Assisted Living sits in Slinger, Wisconsin, and has served the area since 2009 with 26 assisted living units, offering care in a community-based setting licensed under Wisconsin license #13745 and #0015363, and with several locations that include Serenity Villa II, Serenity Villa III, and Serenity Villa IV in Slinger and Campbellsport. Folks can choose private, semi-private, or one-bedroom spaces, and some even have kitchenettes, so residents have a bit of choice in how they'd like to live. The staff includes nurses, trained caregivers, certified nursing assistants, and a full-time RN manager who all help with daily living activities, like bathing, dressing, medication management, and offer hands-on care with things like manual feeding, moving help, and scheduled bathroom reminders. The community also works with residents who live with conditions like Parkinson's, diabetes, dementia, and Alzheimer's disease, and has secured memory care units with alarms and security to help residents stay safe.

There are many things to do at Serenity Villa, with on-site programs led by full-time activity directors, including arts and crafts, movie nights in the theater, games, field trips, fitness activities, and offsite outings, so there's no shortage of ways to stay busy or interact with others. Folks can find spaces to meet, like a garden and courtyard, chapel for devotional services, a barber and beauty shop, and rooms big enough for family gatherings, and shared or private areas give people room to feel at home. All meals come chef-prepared with help from meal planners who focus on a balanced diet, with three daily meals served and special dining programs available so that everyone can find something they enjoy. Housekeeping and personal laundry services are handled by staff, and weekly cleaning comes with the room, with medication supervision and pharmacy services included too.

Residents also get help with medical needs, such as memory care, in-home hospice, skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, diabetic care, incontinence care, and non-ambulatory support. There's also a 24/7 care team on site, which means help is around whenever needed, with a nurse on staff for chronic condition management, and the community can provide manual feeding and mobility help for those who need it. Community life is active, with devotional activities and wellness programs, and accessible features make social life easier, like computer access, walking paths, a game room, and transportation to appointments or shopping. The place has a friendly staff and culture where folks say people are helpful and kind, and the setup supports seniors to keep as much independence as they can while offering peace of mind to families. Serenity Villa doesn't accept Medicare since it's not certified through CMS, but all care and services follow state and local rules under its community-based residential facility license. The community's focus is on supporting seniors in a secure, nurturing place where they can keep their dignity, meet with friends or family, and get the care they need as they age.
