    About Carriage House Homes

Carriage House Homes sits about 4.2 miles outside Piedmont, Oklahoma in the quiet Surrey Hills neighborhood, and the place keeps things very simple, only taking in five residents at a time, so you get a true family-like setting where people know each other and staff pay close attention since there're so few folks to care for. Angela Crawford, a registered nurse with plenty of experience, owns and operates the home, and there's always staff on duty twenty-four hours a day, so help is close if anyone needs it, with nurses right there along with medication care managers and medication techs keeping watch over care routines. Rooms here come as studios, and the community focuses on caring for people living with Alzheimer's and dementia, setting aside a secure memory care area that's built to keep residents safe with a wander alert system and bracelets-so if someone tries to go somewhere they shouldn't, staff will get an alert right away and can help. The Medical Director's a nurse practitioner who makes individualized healthcare plans for residents, and there's support for all levels of assisted living, memory care, home care, or hospice, which means people can stay as their needs increase, and the same goes for respite if someone just needs a short stay. There's a high staff-to-resident ratio, and everyone gets help with daily living tasks from bathing to laundry, even with things like injections or insulin if needed, and the team can handle both physical behaviors and people who try to leave the building. Meals get served restaurant-style, with snacks and special diets like vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, and low-sodium, and there's room service or anytime dining when someone doesn't want to eat with others. Residents stay busy with activities led by a full-time activity director, so you'll find stretching classes, yoga, art and cooking, gardening, BBQs, karaoke, and sometimes trips out and special celebrations-pets like small dogs may stay, and there're even pet-centered activities. Common areas both inside and out are open to everyone, including a swimming pool or hot tub, and several therapies come right to the home, like visiting physical, occupational, and speech therapists, plus there's a visiting nurse. There's transportation offered for any needed appointments and parking for those who can still drive, and the facility even allows outdoor smoking. The community's faith-based, and the idea is to give attentive, compassionate care in a calm, home-like setting, but reviews tend to run very low with an average rating of 1 out of 10.
