    Maintenance-free 55+ co-op, highly recommended

I've lived here 7.5 years in a bright, beautiful 55+ co-op with large apartments and full kitchens - lovely trees, green space, a library, and modern conveniences. It's maintenance-free, secure, lock-and-go living with cooperative management, friendly long-term neighbors, and easy access to biking, golf, tennis and swimming. Repairs and chores are handled, amenities are plentiful, and the place feels like lazy-luxury living - I wouldn't live anywhere else. One drawback: meals are limited (only a Sunday meal). Highly recommend.

    About Plaza At Highlands Crossing

Plaza At Highlands Crossing sits at 1 Highlands Crossing Drive among the scenic Ozark Mountain range where folks can enjoy a comfortable retirement in well-designed one- and two-bedroom suites, with some units offering up to 1,775 square feet and ground floor access for those who prefer to step out into the fresh air. The apartments come with air conditioning, full kitchens, cable TV readiness, and baths with tubs, which means residents have the comforts of home but fewer worries, since all utilities are included in the monthly maintenance fee and the on-site office and maintenance managers handle everyday needs. This place keeps things lively with regular activities like card games, bingo, mah-jongg, horseshoes, happy hours, pot luck dinners, movie nights, coffee and donut meetups, and barbecues or picnics, so seniors always have something to look forward to and social hours help new friends get together. Folks who like their pets are welcome to bring cats and dogs as long as they meet the weight limits, and both indoor and outdoor common areas mean there's space for small gatherings by a central fireplace, community rooms, or outside on patios and lawns surrounded by nature.

Independent living here suits healthy retirees over age 55, though there are also assisted living, memory care, nursing home, and home care services available for those who need a little more help as time goes on. The building is handicap accessible, making it easy for everyone to move about, and there's transportation and parking for outings beyond the grounds. The community works under a cooperative governance model with a Board of Directors elected from among the 59 resident shareholders, which makes it a bit different from other places because residents really have a say in how decisions get made. With a library, several recreational spaces, and staff focused on keeping everyone comfortable and safe, Plaza At Highlands Crossing offers seniors a place where living independently comes with support, choice, and plenty of chances to enjoy each day, and though it doesn't publish prices, families can check current options if they're interested in the different floor plans or available two-bedroom, two-bath units for sale.
