    Compassionate staff, clean and comfortable

I'm a new resident and feel lucky - the staff are compassionate, professional, and routinely go above and beyond to make the move smooth and help me feel at home. The facility is clean, safe, and beautifully landscaped; my roomy apartment with a patio, delicious/improving meals, plentiful activities, and friendly neighbors have improved my mood and health. I give it my full recommendation, though families needing advanced dementia-level medical care or perfectly consistent dining should check needs carefully.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with recurring and emphatic praise for the staff, the social environment, and the physical setting at Fox Ridge Manor. The dominant theme is that the employees—from caregivers to activities staff and administrative teams—are compassionate, attentive, and frequently go beyond their job descriptions to support residents and families. Many reviewers describe smooth move-ins, ongoing communication with families, and a sense that residents are treated like family. Multiple reports highlight 24-hour availability of staff, prompt responses to concerns, and staff efforts that led to measurable improvements in residents’ health, appetite, and emotional well-being.

Activities and social life are another major strength. Reviews consistently praise a varied, active schedule including outings (shopping, restaurant trips), on-site programs (bingo, chair exercise, church services, movie nights), veterans’ breakfasts, seasonal festivals, and musical guests. Residents frequently mention making new friends, enjoying a lively social atmosphere, and appreciating a sense of belonging. The activities program is often described as one of the best features, creating opportunities for meaningful engagement and outings that enhance quality of life.

Facility and grounds are repeatedly commended. Many reviewers note clean, spacious apartments with patios and private spaces, a country setting that feels less institutional, and professionally maintained landscaping. Recent interior renovations and decor upgrades are cited as improving the facility’s appearance. Practical amenities such as on-site laundry, weekly apartment cleaning, and maintenance programs are appreciated. Families report peace of mind thanks to the secure environment and the facility’s ability to keep residents safe and well-cared-for.

Dining is a mixed but important theme. Several reviews enthusiastically praise the cooks, elegant dining presentations (tablecloths, menu choices), and periods when meals were described as “the best.” Conversely, a sizeable number of reviews report poor or awful food quality at other times, and some mention delivery or improvements that were needed. There are also specific complaints about a food service director’s rudeness in at least one review. Multiple reviewers note that dining has improved over time, suggesting variability in food service quality and responsiveness to feedback.

Transportation and management issues show mixed experiences and are a notable concern for some families. While several reviewers report timely transportation through facility vans and services like VanGo, others say transportation was misrepresented and that the facility relies on public transportation for medical appointments. This inconsistency points to differing expectations or uneven execution of advertised transport services. In addition, a subset of reviewers feels management is not sufficiently visible or accessible, and at least one comment frames the monthly cost as not matching perceived value in light of these concerns.

Clinical care capabilities and resident suitability are nuanced. Many reviewers gave positive feedback about attentive care and staff going the extra mile; however, a recurring cautionary note is that Fox Ridge Manor may not be the right fit for residents needing more advanced dementia care or greater medical supervision. Some families explicitly said the level of medical oversight may be insufficient for advanced needs, indicating that while the community provides excellent social and personal care for many residents, its clinical or memory-care capacity may be limited or variable.

In summary, Fox Ridge Manor is consistently described as a warm, family-like community with exceptional staff, strong programming, attractive grounds, and generally comfortable apartments. The most frequent praise centers on people—caring employees and a vibrant social environment—along with improvements to the physical space. The principal negatives to weigh are inconsistent dining quality, mixed experiences with transportation and management accessibility, potential gaps for advanced medical or dementia care, and concerns about cost relative to expectations. Prospective residents and families should prioritize visiting to evaluate current dining and transport arrangements, confirm the level of medical/memory care available for specific needs, and speak with staff and residents to assess fit and any recent improvements or ongoing issues.
