The Forum at Overland Park has many choices for seniors, offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home care, respite stays, and even at-home care, and people can pick from studios to roomy one- and two-bedroom apartments, all with kitchens that have things like granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and pantries, or for those who want something simpler, there are assisted living studios as well, plus private rooms in the healthcare center if someone needs skilled nursing or rehabilitation. Residents can enjoy both indoor spaces, with comfortable common rooms, card and game rooms, a movie theater, an activity studio, and a library, as well as outdoor areas that include walking paths, a park, a courtyard with a fountain, gardens, a lake and pond, raised garden beds, a dog park, and outdoor dining under umbrellas, not to mention two pools, one heated indoors and one outside, and a gated entrance for a sense of safety. The staff is trained to help with things like dressing, bathing, grooming, and medicine reminders if needed for an extra fee, and there are in-house doctor visits, plus a healthcare center onsite offering rehabilitation and wellness programs through FOX Rehabilitation and an Ageility clinic for fitness therapy, including speech, physical, and occupational therapy. Meals are included, with a Five Star dining program, complimentary breakfast, choices of one, two, or three meals daily, private and care-focused dining rooms, a cocktail lounge, and the MyChoice Dining Program, and there's help with housekeeping, flat linen service, building maintenance, laundry, and weekly housecleaning. The community plans many activities each day such as games, movie nights, happy hours, housewarming events, classes, and group trips out to see the nearby shops, as well as religious services in the chapel and volunteer opportunities for those interested. Residents have Wi-Fi and basic TV and cable, can use computers in common areas, and have covered parking and concierge service at all hours, with transportation available for trips and errands. There's pet-friendly living and even pet therapy, with both indoor and outdoor spaces to walk pets or let them play. The Forum at Overland Park tries to offer seniors lots of choices, whether someone's looking for an active lifestyle or more support, and does it with different floor plans, programs to support independence, and a full set of services for comfort, health, and ease of living. Assisted living options start at around $4,600, and independent living at $4,100, and the community's always got something going on to help keep people active and connected.

Caring staff, excellent care overall
I'm very glad we chose this community - the staff (including long-tenured leaders like Jennifer) are caring, responsive and professional, nursing and rehab/PT are excellent, the food is delicious, activities are abundant, and the place has a warm, family-like feel that gives real peace of mind. Move-in support was great, apartments are clean and convenient, and leadership is attentive. It's not perfect: the building shows its age, there are occasional maintenance and weekend staffing shortages, and I saw gaps in assisted-living incontinence management that families should discuss up front. Overall I feel well cared for and would recommend the community while advising others to confirm specific staffing and care needs.
