    Exceptional senior community stress-free living

I live in an excellent senior community with exceptional, friendly staff, awesome food, and lots of activities (art and woodworking). My large private room/2-bedroom cottage with attached garage is cleaned regularly; housecleaning and daily meals are included and special requests are always accommodated. Care ranges from minimal to heavy, it's affordable, nearby learning/no-fee auditing is a bonus, and I'm stress-free about cooking-highly recommend for long-term stay.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with consistent praise for the quality of care and the staff. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as exceptional, helpful, friendly, and accommodating; several comments single out that special requests are honored and that staff performance inspires high recommendation. Care quality is characterized as outstanding, with the facility offering both heavy-care services for residents with significant needs and minimal-care options for those requiring less assistance. Multiple reviewers explicitly recommend the community, and there is a clear pattern of confidence about long-term residency.

Facilities and accommodations receive favorable remarks for size and layout. Rooms are described as large and spacious, with private-room options and 2-bedroom cottages that include attached garages. Housecleaning and regular room cleaning by staff are noted as included services, contributing to resident satisfaction and a sense of lower daily burden. There is a particular appreciation for the small-house model for extended living, which some reviewers view as a positive feature for longer-term comfort and community feel.

Dining and related lifestyle conveniences are highlighted as strengths. Food is described as very good to awesome, and staff accommodate special dietary requests. Daily meals are included, which reviewers cite as a source of stress relief—specifically, the relief of not having to worry about cooking dinner. Housekeeping being included and meals provided combine to create a low-maintenance lifestyle that many find affordable and freeing.

Programming and activities are another recurring theme. The community offers many activities, including art projects and woodworking, which reviewers mention as meaningful and engaging. In addition to onsite activities, reviewers appreciate nearby learning opportunities and the ability to audit classes without fees, reinforcing the community's appeal for intellectually and socially active residents.

Affordability and overall value come through in multiple reviews. Reviewers describe the pricing as affordable and express optimism about long-term stay, linking cost, included services (meals and housekeeping), and quality of care as factors that justify positive impressions. The combination of supportive staff, included services, and activity options produces a common conclusion: residents feel well-cared-for and satisfied.

The primary and only notable concern mentioned across the summaries is a desire for a larger kitchen in some units. Aside from that single complaint, there are no recurring operational or management problems cited in these summaries. In sum, the reviews paint Sterling Village as a well-run community with excellent staff, strong care options, comfortable and spacious accommodations, good dining, diverse activities, and good value—making it a highly recommended option according to the reviewers.

    About Sterling Village

Sterling Village, managed by GraceTeam, gives older adults many care options and ways to live, so someone can find what suits them best, whether that's independent living with no yard work or meals to skilled nursing care with nurses around all day and night, and they've made a point to move away from the old model of nursing homes, choosing instead to focus on each person's dignity and choices while aiming to create a home where staff know residents well and treat everyone like family, which matters to folks wanting a bit more care or those just wanting friendship and company. They've named their different programs and spaces to fit the place, and you'll see things like memory care, assisted living, adult day services, hospice, and both Medicare-certified home health care and non-medical home care, so someone can get support even at home. Residents can get short-term rehabilitation if they need to recover from injury, surgery, or illness, and Sterling Village helps bridge the gap between hospital and home if needed. Folks living there have access to daily exercise classes, wellness programs, social events, worship services, and activities for personal growth, plus regular programs and events keep things lively and make friendships easy to grow. Safety's part of the setup too, since there are security systems, and all utilities like cable TV are included, so nobody has to worry about the bills. Meals are served in a shared dining room, with three nutritious choices and snacks every day, and rooms get daily housekeeping and laundry, so it's easier to enjoy time with others or just rest. There's an adult day services program too, so people can join in activities or get care during the day even if they live elsewhere, and those with memory loss can get extra help through the memory care area. Residents get opportunities to join the on-site senior center, join in worship, or join social programs-so there's something for everyone, whether someone likes to stay busy or prefers quiet time. The staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, meet Kansas's standards for hands-on care, spending almost four hours with each resident daily, reflecting a promise to keep quality up. The place has earned its spot as a Top 10 Provider for person-centered care in Kansas, and that comes from the belief that older age, called the "third age of life," should be about joy and meaningful living, not just waiting out time, with a focus on supportive relationships and little touches that bring comfort. Sterling Village works to enrich life with a warm, personal approach, choosing services that cover most every need, but always circling back to the idea of giving all residents purpose and fulfillment each day.
