    Spacious, social 62+ community; pricey

I'm signing a lease at this brand-new 62+ independent living community - shiny, very clean, and spacious. I picked a large two-bedroom with in-unit washer/dryer; the property has an outdoor pool/hot tub (seasonal), big gym, woodworking shop, media/library/game rooms, courtyard, cozy bistro, private dining and lots of common space. The monthly calendar is packed - clubs, fitness programs, a one-day university, weekly housekeeping and self-serve breakfast - so socializing is easy and making friends feels natural. Staff are friendly and non-pushy (Michelle and Samantha were fantastic), but it's expensive and has strict rules (no grills/no smoking).

    Summary review

Overall impression: Reviews of Everleigh Naperville are strongly positive, emphasizing a brand-new, very clean and spacious community that caters to active, independent seniors (62+). The overall sentiment centers on a lively social environment with a wide variety of amenities and programs, and staff who are friendly and non-pushy. Many reviewers highlight the ease of socializing and making friends, suggesting the community succeeds at fostering engagement and connection.

Facilities and design: The property is repeatedly described as shiny, new, and large. Common-space assets draw frequent praise: a big courtyard, cozy bistro, fireplace room, library, media room, game room, private dining/party rooms, and a large gym. Specialty spaces such as a woodworking shop and separate hobby areas were noted, and reviewers like the separate party rooms and larger common area for gatherings. Apartment units mentioned include roomy two-bedroom layouts; some reviews specifically call out in-unit washers and dryers, while other summaries indicate laundry may not be included, which suggests variability by unit or lease type. The facility is noted as very clean and well-maintained.

Staff and management: Staff consistently receive high marks for friendliness and an unpressured approach to sales and move-in. Individual staff members (Michelle and Samantha) were named positively, which indicates strong, personalized service. Reviewers describe staff as accommodating and eager to help but not pushy. One operational theme is that some prospective residents were in the process of leasing or moving in, which could point to active demand; it also suggests prospective move-ins should confirm timing and lease details with management.

Activities and social life: Activity offerings are a major strength. Reviews describe a wide-ranging calendar with clubs (bridge, euchre, book clubs), organized social events, a monthly activities calendar, woodworking, and year-round fitness programs. Educational and enrichment programming, such as a one-day university program presented in the media room, was specifically mentioned. Reviewers appreciated the volume and variety of programming, and many noted that it makes it easy to meet people and stay engaged.

Dining and housekeeping: The community appears to lean toward independent living dining models. Several reviews described the independent living option as "cook-your-own-meals," and breakfast offerings are characterized as continental or self-serve. There is a cozy bistro and private dining room for special events, and weekly housekeeping is offered. Potential residents should be aware that full-service dining may be limited or not included, and should confirm which meal plans (if any) are available.

Costs and restrictions: A common downside is cost: multiple reviewers describe the community as expensive. Additionally, rules that some residents found restrictive (for example, no grills and no smoking) were explicitly called out. The swimming pool is a draw, but reviewers noted it is seasonal and may be closed in winter, so access is not year-round. There is also some inconsistency in comments about laundry—some mention in-unit washers and dryers, while others note laundry is not included—which indicates residents should confirm laundry provisions for specific units and leases.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is a high-quality, amenity-rich independent living community that prioritizes social programming and well-designed common spaces, staffed by personable, non-aggressive personnel. The trade-offs are primarily cost and some service limitations (limited full-service dining, seasonal pool, and community rules). Prospective residents and families should verify unit-specific details (laundry availability, exact lease inclusions, pricing, and meal plan options), confirm pool availability by season, and discuss any lifestyle preferences that might be affected by community rules. For active older adults who value new facilities, robust programming, and social opportunities and who are comfortable with independent living and associated costs, Everleigh Naperville appears to be a very strong option.
