    Pleasant respectful staff active community

I love living here — I'm pleasantly surprised by the warmth, kindness and respect from staff who treat us with dignity. My freshly painted apartment is clean (the building is older) and I enjoy independence and privacy, a social, family atmosphere, ample activities (community room, training room with technicians, and 2–3 field trips/month). The dining room is beautiful though there's a one-meal-a-day policy; I have no complaints — this hidden gem made me a happy new resident and there's a waiting list after showings.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Myers Apartments Independent Living is strongly positive. Multiple reviewers emphasize a warm, respectful culture where residents feel welcomed and well cared for. Praise centers on friendly staff, a clean and recently refreshed living environment, and a social atmosphere that supports independence and privacy. Several comments characterize the community as a ‘‘hidden secret’’ or a new home that exceeds expectations, indicating high resident satisfaction and word-of-mouth approval.

Staff and care quality emerge as a clear strength. Reviewers repeatedly note friendliness, warmth, kindness, respect, and dignity in interactions with staff. The repeated use of terms like ‘‘happy,’’ ‘‘no complaints,’’ and direct praise suggests staff deliver consistently positive daily experiences. This extends beyond basic service to the emotional tone of the community — residents report feeling valued and treated with respect, which contributes significantly to overall satisfaction.

Facility-related comments present a mix of strengths and realistic limitations. On the positive side, apartments are described as clean and freshly painted, and the dining room is called beautiful, suggesting maintenance and aesthetic attention. The property also provides communal spaces that support social life and activities, including a community room and a training room staffed with technicians. However, reviewers also note the building and apartments are older, which could imply that some physical aspects reflect an older property even if upkeep and cosmetic updates are evident.

Dining at the community is a notable area where policy affects resident experience. The dining room is praised for its appearance, but the community maintains a one-meal-a-day dining-room policy. That policy is explicitly mentioned in the reviews and stands out as a potential limitation for residents who expect multiple communal meals or more flexible dining options. While some residents appear content, prospective residents who prioritize multiple hot meals in a dining room setting may want to clarify this policy in advance.

Activities and social programming are a definite plus. Reviewers cite ample activities, a community room with regular events, and organized off-site experiences such as field trips two to three times per month. This level of programming supports an engaged and active lifestyle and complements comments about a social, family-like atmosphere. The presence of a training room and technicians also suggests practical on-site support for maintenance, repairs, or programming needs.

Management and market signals show both strengths and constraints. The community appears to be in demand—several comments reference a waiting list after showing an apartment—indicating popularity and positive reputation. At the same time, that popularity can create access delays for new residents. Reviewers do not report management problems; the ‘‘no complaints’’ sentiment and direct praise imply effective ongoing operations and resident satisfaction.

In summary, Myers Apartments Independent Living presents as a well-regarded, resident-centered community with strengths in staff quality, cleanliness, social programming, and a welcoming atmosphere. The property balances the charm of a close-knit social environment and active offerings with the realities of an older building and specific policies such as a single dining-room meal per day. For prospective residents, the key considerations will be whether the dining policy and the age of the physical plant match personal preferences; for many current residents, the supportive staff, activities, and overall sense of dignity and warmth make this community feel like a new home or a hidden gem.

    About Myers Apartments Independent Living

Myers Apartments Independent Living sits on Cedar Road in Beachwood, Ohio, and offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, including deluxe units, with things like walk-in closets, full kitchens, modern appliances, and private bathrooms. This place stands on the King David campus, known as Northeast Ohio's biggest healthcare community for older adults, so residents can get access to clinics, therapy pools, worship services, and pharmacy right on site. Each apartment includes cable TV, Wi-Fi, and all utilities except electricity and phone. There's onsite parking, including reserved spaces, and the staff takes care of housekeeping twice a month and offers private cleaning and linen services if you need more. Laundry and dry-cleaning services run onsite too.

Meals, including kosher and vegetarian options or diets with no or low salt, get served in a central dining room. There's also a bistro, pub, and a private dining room for special occasions. You can bring guests for meals or overnight, and a happy hour happens weekly. Transportation is available by bus for shopping or medical appointments, and most things are right on campus anyway-a convenience store, a full-service bank, and a salon for haircuts and barber services. The community offers pools (including an indoor one connected to the King David Aquatic & Therapy Center), a hot tub, a gym, a wellness center, and outdoor gardens. There are art rooms, a greenhouse, computer access, a playground, and places for movie nights in the media room. There's a recreation room with games like billiards, and organized things to do every day, like Tai Chi, chair yoga, gardening groups, music groups, and game nights. The staff plans group activities, arts and crafts, lectures, and even volunteer opportunities around the buildings. Residents can join clubs and events all over the campus, not just in one building, and many people find it easy to make friends here-the story time, live shows, and happy hours help with that.

Pets are welcome in some units, with community rules to keep everyone comfortable. The building itself is age-restricted and designed with safety and comfort in mind, and staff is always around to help as needed. There's respite care for short stays. Religious services happen in the chapel onsite so you don't have to leave the grounds. Clinical health services, like podiatry and audiology, are accessible, and occupational and physical therapists visit or work in an in-house therapy center. Residents have access to all kinds of support, from maintenance to medical to social. The whole place tries to keep people active, healthy, and engaged while making daily life as low-stress as possible, and you can choose how much you want to join in, making Myers Apartments a straightforward, well-supplied spot for independent living as you age.
