    Warm inviting facility, excellent value

I moved here for the larger, clean apartment and have loved the warm, inviting facility and fabulous, convenient location. The staff and management are thoughtful and responsive, meals (including monthly buffets) are excellent and low-cost, activities and walking paths helped me make close friends while keeping my independence, and transportation to appointments is reliable. Great value — more storage, savings on my cable bill — I highly recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The review summaries for Cannery Row Senior Apartments are uniformly positive. Reviewers consistently praise the facility for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, strong sense of community, and perceived value. Multiple summaries emphasize satisfaction with both the physical living spaces and the social environment, and many reviewers explicitly state they would recommend the community.

Dining and food services: Dining appears to be a notable strength. Reviews repeatedly mention "great meals at low cost," availability of monthly buffets, and that meals are available for residents. The combination of low meal cost and organized meal events is presented as both a practical convenience and a social opportunity. This suggests dining services are not only affordable but also integrated into the community life, helping residents socialize while reducing individual meal preparation burden.

Staff and management: Staff and management receive strong, specific praise. Phrases like "thoughtful and responsive management," "wonderful staff," and "highly-recommend" reflect a perception of attentive, helpful personnel. This positive staff interaction likely supports residents' sense of safety and well-being and appears to be a key contributor to overall satisfaction.

Facilities and apartments: The physical environment is described as very clean, warm, and inviting. Apartments are characterized as "nice," with reviewers noting larger square footage and additional storage space compared to prior accommodations. Walking paths and on-site amenities are highlighted, contributing to an attractive, walkable campus feel. Cleanliness and the apartment quality combine to create a comfortable residential experience.

Activities, community, and social life: Reviews indicate an active social calendar and strong peer connections. Residents report being "engaged in activities," "meeting new friends," and living among "close-knit residents." Social programming and communal meals (for example, the monthly buffet) appear to be effective at fostering connections and reducing isolation. This social vibrancy is repeatedly cited as a major positive aspect.

Services and logistics: Practical services and conveniences are well represented in the reviews. Transportation to appointments is explicitly mentioned, which is important for healthcare and errands. Additional small cost-saving details, such as "savings on cable bill," are noted and contribute to the overall impression of value. The convenient location is also repeatedly praised, reinforcing accessibility and practicality for residents.

Cost and value: Reviewers consistently describe the community as good value. One summary notes cost is "near parity with previous place," suggesting that residents find the price reasonable for the level of services and quality provided. Combined with low-cost meal options and other savings, the overall financial impression is favorable.

Notable patterns and gaps: The dominant pattern is overwhelmingly positive feedback across meals, staff, apartments, activities, and logistics. There are no significant negative comments reported in the supplied summaries. One notable absence in these reviews is any detailed mention of clinical or medical care services; the summaries focus on apartment living, meals, transportation, and social programming, indicating these reviews reflect the independent-living experience more than assisted-care aspects. Prospective residents with complex medical needs should therefore confirm clinical or nursing support availability separately.

Conclusion: Taken together, the reviews depict Cannery Row Senior Apartments as a clean, welcoming independent-living community with strong dining options, helpful staff and management, comfortable and roomy apartments, good transportation and amenities, and an active social environment. Reviewers emphasize value and recommend the community. The primary caveat based on these summaries is the lack of commentary about medical/clinical care, which suggests prospective residents should verify those services if they are a requirement.

    About Cannery Row Senior Apartments

Cannery Row Senior Apartments sits over on 301 E 3rd St in Waunakee, WI, and has been serving seniors since 2004 with 49 thoughtfully designed apartments, mostly for folks 55 and older who want a quiet and warm place, and the building does a good job of making sure everyone feels welcome whether they want a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom, and most units come with patios or balconies, which is nice for fresh air on those decent days, with sizes ranging from about 702 to 1,150 square feet. The apartments all have fully equipped kitchens, in-unit laundry setups, radiant floor heating, and several include underground parking and cable TV in the rent, which covers heating too. The property is a low-income tax credit community, so there are price points like $945, $1,015, $1,150, and $1,450, which gives folks with different incomes some choices, and there are a few different unit types like "221-A" or "223-A"-folks might see a unit name like that if they're looking at what's available.

The community was built specifically for seniors and aims for a supportive atmosphere where both men and women live, though sometimes there are units for women only, and the staff tries to keep a sense of belonging and security running through the place, which isn't always easy but they do their best to know everyone by name and be responsive if someone needs help. The building has secured entry, elevator access, and wheelchair-accessible showers to make things safer and easier for folks who don't get around as well as they used to, and pets like cats and dogs can live here because the management knows that a pet means a lot for seniors' happiness and health.

There's plenty for seniors to do, with group exercises, arts and crafts, bingo, games, movie nights, and both onsite and offsite activities, including planned trips and transportation for doctor's appointments or outings to nearby restaurants, parks, or shops. The place is right next to a senior and community center and is close to parks and quiet residential neighborhoods, which means residents can visit neighbors or even walk to their daughter's house if they want to. For folks who like social spaces, there are indoor and outdoor common areas, a library, a therapy room, a fitness center, and a hair salon run by a professional beautician, so residents don't have to travel far for a haircut or a bit of exercise.

Cannery Row Senior Apartments offers a range of care depending on what folks need, from independent living, assisted living, and memory care, all the way to skilled nursing home services for those who need extra help-assisted living is there for activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, and for meals, residents can sign up to get meals including a monthly buffet if they prefer not to cook, which takes a load off. There's also a monthly buffet, which folks seem to like since it's a way for everyone to get together and make a real day out of mealtime. Management runs onsite offices where the staff handles mail, answers questions, and keeps an eye out to make sure things keep humming along. Storage space is generous, everything's kept pretty clean, and the whole building's under a non-smoking policy so the air stays fresher than in some places.

With library space, walking paths outside, and trails nearby, Cannery Row Senior Apartments gives seniors the chance to stay active and connect with friends both in and out of the building, and there's always some way to get involved, whether through crafts, games, group fitness, or just sitting outside for a chat. The place belongs to the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce and has been open to residents all year, Monday to Friday, with Andi Simmons there as the contact for most things. All in all, Cannery Row is a quiet, sturdy, well-kept building where older adults can find a little community and help as they need it, with an honest effort to balance comfort, safety, and friendships, because folks age better when they aren't alone and have support if the time comes they need it.
