      About Leisure Village - Fox

Leisure Village - Fox is a big, active adult community for people aged 55 and over, with about 360 ranch-style attached homes spread out across 100 acres, and you'll find everything from townhouses and single-family homes to condos, some with full basements, others without, and floor plans that start at 1,107 square feet and go up to 2,322 square feet, so there's a size for most anyone. The place is gated and resident-owned, and it's set up for folks who want to live independently and have an active lifestyle, where exterior maintenance is taken care of and dogs and cats are welcome. You see lots of people out gardening in one of the vegetable plots or the big heated greenhouse, not to mention all the social and interest groups-like artists, quilters, writers, line dancers, crafters, and gardeners-where neighbors get together just to share hobbies or help with events, and the whole place runs with resident-run commissions deciding what's best. There are real activities here, with a recreation center that has a 250-seat auditorium, a library, pool tables, an art room, a sewing and quilting room, plus a card and game room, and outside there's a heated, oversized swimming pool, pickleball courts, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and even picnic grounds with a fire pit right on the lakefront, not to mention a golf course and a private fishing pond and lake that folks enjoy regularly without it being anything fancy. There's always something going on, whether it's a game of billiards or a social gathering, and you'll see people using the sundeck, the indoor and outdoor pools, or relaxing in the sauna or whirlpool. The homes have names like Berkshire, Breckenridge, Camelback, Carmel, Chesapeake, Ellison, Greenbriar, Laguna, Monterey, Palm Springs, Scottsdale, Silverbrook, Sun Valley, Sundance, Tanterra, and Whitney, and there's a general focus on making things easy so people can stay as active and independent as they want, with safety taken seriously through things like security door locks and an on-site manager or engineer if something needs fixing. The whole setup is about making life simple, supporting people as needs change, but still keeping the sense of community and activity strong, and while there's no assisted living on site, Leisure Village - Fox does have plenty of amenities to make day-to-day living easy and enjoyable for people who can live on their own and want to keep busy.
