Fairview Haven is a non-profit, church-related senior living community that's been around since July 26, 2018, and sits on a foundation of Christian principles, with support from the Apostolic Christian Churches of Fairbury, Forrest, and Cissna Park. The place offers many care options, like skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, memory support, and hospice care, with special homes known as Fairview Estates for assisted living, Fairview Suites for independent living, and East Haven Condos that let people stay independent longer, plus the Serenity Villa memory support assisted living home that follows a household model, which helps people with dementia live in a familiar, peaceful setting. Serenity Villa fits about 20 to 22 people, uses natural light, keeps noise low, secures outdoor areas, and has its own kitchen, family-style dining, and quiet living spaces-people can even cook together when they want to.
Residents get professional chef-prepared meals in a restaurant-style dining room with all-day service and special diet choices, like meals for diabetes or allergies, which the Dining Services Director, Lori Ifft CDP CTP, oversees. The place has a full list of services, including help with bathing, dressing, medication management, and 24-hour call systems, with 12 to 16-hour nursing care and skilled nursing for those with greater needs. Housekeeping, laundry, move-in help, and family support make daily life easier, while transportation, parking, and maintenance are all handled by staff, including people like Director of Building Operations, Jeremiah Rinkenberger. There's a Therapy Services department too, run by a PTA named Jessica Hageman, and residents can also use Connections Home Care, In Motion Fitness & Therapy, Meals on Wheels, or even Handyman Services if they need something fixed.
Rooms come furnished with private bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, telephones, air conditioning, and internet, making them feel like home. There are many activity options like outdoor walking paths, a garden, a movie theater, an arts room, a fitness center, a spa and wellness area, plus a music programs room and a game room. The community supports an active life with daily scheduled activities, events run by residents, fitness classes, and special programs that the Life Enrichment Director, Dixie Steidinger, organizes. There's also a newsletter called "Life Abounds!" where everyone can read about recent happenings and future plans.
Fairview Haven takes Medicaid and Medicare, offers payment options by request, and keeps its floor plans handy for people thinking about moving in. The staff works hard to provide compassionate, person-centered care, managed by people like Director of Nursing, Emma Dunahee RN BSN, and Director of Assisted Living, Joelle Jones RN BSN. Volunteers from the community pitch in often, which helps the place stay friendly and welcoming, and the Director of Public Relations, Rick Plattner LHNA, keeps people up to date on what's happening. If anyone wants to take a look inside, they can try a virtual tour with videos or 360-degree photos, because regular public tours aren't open, but visitors and family can still come in by ringing the front door. The building has special memory care features, with diffused lighting and quieter areas, and the staff follows a strong commitment to positive care and respect for each resident's choices and dignity, making sure every person-no matter their background-gets treated equally and fairly. There's always someone around to help, from nurses to home care workers, making Fairview Haven a reliable choice for retirement, everyday needs, and special support when memory loss becomes a challenge.
