    About Walker Methodist Health Center

Walker Methodist Health Center, now known as Lakehouse Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and also sometimes called Walker Place by Vivie, sits at 3737 Bryant Ave S in Minneapolis and keeps a long history of caring for older adults. This nonprofit, affiliated with Knute Nelson and now part of Vivie, runs facilities all over Minnesota, bringing together memory care, transitional care, rehab services, assisted living, independent living, and long-term care, all pulled together under one roof, and nobody has to worry about being left alone because there's always staff available, day and night, to help with nursing care, medication management, and anything somebody might need. The building has private rooms in its memory care transitional unit, giving people with dementia or delirium a quieter, safer space when they need special attention, and you'll also find transitional care for folks who want to recover from illness or surgery, along with both inpatient and outpatient rehab options, including occupational, physical, and speech therapy, plus social workers and dietitians who work together to set up each person's care plan with families and the resident's wishes in mind. It's a place with comfy lounges, a big atrium, landscaped courtyards, and beautiful shaded gardens, which folks can enjoy when the weather's nice, and you'll notice the activity room, music room, meditation spots, and a fitness club, along with a rec room where you'll find activities like yoga, musical therapy, basketball, tennis, and even horse-riding and hiking trips every now and again. Meals show up hot each day, planned by chefs, and you can expect plenty of soups, sandwiches and salads, served in the dining area with staff who help make sure dietary needs are met, and if someone wants to look their best, there's a full salon on site too. Folks here can take part in social, recreational, and educational programs, from outings to concerts and shops to devotional gatherings, with a full calendar to keep everybody involved and help them feel part of a real, lively community. There's laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance help so residents don't have to worry about day to day chores, and with amenities like heated indoor parking and scheduled rides for appointments or errands, moving around is easier, which matters when relatives come to visit, or if someone needs to get to the doctor. For seniors needing more medical support, there's skilled nursing care, hospice, respite care, and programs for physical, social, emotional, and even spiritual wellness, all under one roof, while social workers step in to support residents and families through big and small life changes. With a strong focus on dignity, respect, autonomy and warm friendships, Walker Place by Vivie feels both safe and welcoming, whether someone needs a short recovery stay or a comfortable, long-term home. The whole place is active in the community, regularly updating and improving its spaces and programs, and the range of care fits just about any need, spanning from regular medical care and rehab, to sober living arrangements for adults, and even population health and dental services. Residents live in private or semi-private rooms, always supported by trained staff who try to make each day easier, and every piece of the place seems shaped around not just keeping people safe, but helping them feel at home and part of something steady and real.
