About Alamo Nursing And Rehabilitation Center

Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been dedicated to delivering exceptional care to the residents of Crockett County for over fifty years. The center prides itself on nurturing a positive and homelike environment, believing that the atmosphere plays a crucial role in the success of both skilled therapy and long-term care. The facility is maintained to exacting standards, ensuring it is always attractive, clean, comfortable, and secure. Around the clock, a well-trained staff provides comprehensive health-related services, including assistance with daily living activities to support each resident’s well-being.

The center is recognized for its wide array of medical services, which go beyond 24-hour nursing care to include specialized support such as IV antibiotics, tracheostomy care, diabetic management, dialysis support, stroke care, and wound management. Residents with complex medical conditions benefit from the ongoing staff education and special programs continually integrated into the center’s offerings. The therapy and rehabilitation services are a central focus, aiming to improve each patient’s quality of life by helping them reach their maximum potential. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology are available, with therapy patients enjoying a recently renovated hall equipped with fully furnished private rooms.

Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center also provides a robust dietary program. Every meal is prepared under the supervision of a certified dietitian to meet the specific nutritional needs of each resident, with alternate menu options available to accommodate individual preferences. For family members and lunchtime visitors, guest trays can be arranged with prior notice. The facility also houses a popular beauty shop, open four days a week, offering an extensive menu of services such as haircuts, permanent color, highlights, and beard trimming. Residents are treated to complimentary haircuts once a month.

Faith and community are central to everyday life at the center. Spiritual well-being is encouraged through multiple weekly Bible study and worship services, often enlivened by live choir performances from local groups. For social engagement, the activities program offers something for everyone with a daily schedule featuring musical performances, animal shows, social events, and games—ensuring an engaging and stimulating environment.

Laundry services are included, with the facility handling all garment care. Each resident’s clothing receives iron-on labels upon admission for easy identification, though family members may choose to do laundry at home if preferred. The care band system is a distinctive feature used to support memory care residents. Rather than confining these residents to a specific area, they wear ankle bracelets that trigger an alarm near doors, ensuring staff are alerted and can accompany residents as necessary, enhancing both freedom and safety.

Social services play a vital role in supporting residents and their families through the admission process, transition into the facility, and planning for successful discharges, including arrangements for home health services and equipment. Within the walls of Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a dedicated team including Monica Blankenship, LNHA Administrator; Andrea Mckinnie, RN Director of Nursing; Johnna Smith, LPN Assistant Director of Nursing; Morgan Reeves, Social Services Director; Elizabeth Park, Dietary Manager; Madison Vaughn, Activity Director; Jeremy McBroom, Maintenance Supervisor; and Amberly Worrell, COTA Therapy Director, work collaboratively to ensure each resident receives personalized, compassionate care tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
