I placed my loved one at Tina's home - best decision. The nurse-owner and warm, family-like staff (John and Tina) provide expert, personalized dementia and end-of-life care with 2-4 caregivers per shift, daily medication passes and colostomy assistance. Homemade nutritious meals, a clean, homey house with activities and steady staff advocacy made us feel safe, loved, and well cared for for seven years.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive, with multiple families emphasizing that Tina's Place Assisted Living Home feels much more like a family residence than an institutional facility. Reviewers repeatedly note the presence of a registered nurse owner who is actively involved with residents on a daily basis, and they describe caregivers as exceptional, compassionate, and attentive. Many accounts highlight consistency of care, staffing coverage (2–4 caregivers on duty, plus live-in staff), and long-term relationships, including residents or families who felt confident in the home's care for extended periods (one mention of seven years, and multiple references to Tina's Place being in operation around 14 years). The overall tone is trustful and grateful for the individualized attention residents receive.

Care quality emerges as a central strength. Families report that medication management is reliable (daily medication passes), that complex needs are met (examples include colostomy care and dementia care), and that the team provides compassionate end-of-life support and coordinates well with hospice. Several reviewers explicitly state they had no worries about care and that staff advocated for residents. The combination of an RN owner who spends time with residents and a stable caregiving team supports continuity and clinical oversight beyond what many expect from a small assisted living home.

Staffing, culture, and management are consistently praised. Reviewers describe a casual, comfortable atmosphere where staff treat residents like family. Specific staff names (John and Tina) are mentioned as attentive caregivers, and the organization is described as encouraging family involvement. The presence of 2–4 caregivers per shift and live-in staff is emphasized as providing both attention and safety. Multiple comments note caregivers’ kindness, advocacy, and willingness to support families through difficult times, reinforcing a perception of a close-knit, service-oriented team.

Facilities and dining receive positive remarks: the building is characterized as an older but well-kept and clean home with a large backyard that supports a residential feel rather than an institutional one. Meals are home-cooked and described as nutritious, with three meals served daily. These elements reinforce the home-like vibe and contribute to residents feeling well-fed, clean, and comfortable.

Social and programmatic aspects are mixed but generally positive. Staff-led activities and encouragement to participate are noted, and reviewers appreciate the warm, family feeling and social interactions. However, a commonly mentioned limitation is that outings and off-site activities are limited. That, combined with the small-home setting, suggests fewer large-scale programming options than might be available at a bigger facility. Families should weigh the trade-off between the personalized, family atmosphere and the potential for more limited external activities.

Notable patterns and concerns: almost all reviews are enthusiastic, yet a few warn that "appearances can be deceiving" and advise prospective families to "look behind the scenes." While reviewers did not elaborate specific negative incidents, this caution implies variability may exist or that a careful in-person inspection is important. The small, residential nature of the setting—while repeatedly praised—also inherently limits certain amenities and breadth of programming available at larger communities. Prospective residents and families should verify how the home's offerings match their expectations for outings, specialized therapies, or large-scale social programming.

In summary, Tina's Place Assisted Living Home is portrayed as a compassionate, well-run, home-like option with strong clinical oversight from an RN owner, reliable medication management, a compassionate caregiving team, nutritious home-cooked meals, and effective end-of-life support. Its principal trade-offs are the smaller scale and correspondingly limited outings/activities and the implicit need for families to personally assess whether the home's residential model meets their specific activity and amenity expectations. For families seeking personalized, family-centered care with clinical attentiveness in a residential setting, the reviews indicate Tina's Place is highly recommended; for those prioritizing frequent off-site activities or a wide array of institutional services, further inquiry is advisable.
