    Compassionate care with communication issues

My mother received loving, high-quality care here - staff treated her like family, Nurse Christine and the lead nurse communicated promptly, and the founders Beth and Banjo have built a clean, well-furnished, well-run home with good food, activities, and pandemic protocols. I'm grateful for the attentive, low-turnover team who met every need and gave us peace of mind; I only wish we'd placed her sooner. I'm heartbroken she passed, and deeply thankful for the care she had. One serious issue: the phone/voicemail hasn't worked, so I couldn't reach the facility or get timely updates - please provide an alternate contact number. Also note occasional safety lapses (wandering/unattended residents) that should be addressed. Overall, I trust and recommend the staff for compassionate, hands-on care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is predominantly positive about the quality of day-to-day care, staff attitude, and the facility environment, but there are recurring operational and safety concerns that need attention.

Care quality and staff: Many reviewers emphasize that staff are dedicated, caring, and treat residents like family. The facility is described as having a hands-on, family-driven leadership culture—specifically naming founders Beth and Banjo—which appears to set a tone of personal investment and continuity. Clinical and caregiving staff receive direct praise: a lead nurse who communicates well and provides timely information, and a specific caregiver (Nurse Christine) singled out as "wonderful." Multiple comments highlight on-time medication administration, attentive personal care (residents kept clean and nicely dressed), low staff turnover compared with other facilities, and that every need is met. These points combine to create a clear pattern of reliable, personal caregiving that has engendered trust and long-term relationships with families.

Facility, dining and activities: The physical environment is frequently described as clean, large, well-furnished, and nicely decorated. Reviewers note that pandemic protocols were followed, suggesting attention to infection control. Dining gets positive mention—meals are described as tasty and the dining area as spacious. Recreational offerings include arts and crafts and an exercise room with machines, which reviewers appreciate as part of the residents' daily life and engagement. Overall, the facility amenities and upkeep appear to be a strong point and contribute to family members' peace of mind.

Communication and management: Several reviews praise the staff for being helpful, informative, and providing timely updates, which contributes to families' confidence in decision-making and overall satisfaction. The family-driven leadership and long-term relationships indicate stable management and a community-style approach. However, there is a notable and repeated operational problem: the phone system. Multiple reviewers report voicemail boxes being full, phone numbers not working, and an inability to reach the facility for routine checks or urgent welfare inquiries. This is a concrete communications gap that undermines trust in urgent situations and needs immediate remediation (e.g., fixing phone lines, clearing voicemail, and providing alternative contact methods).

Safety and supervision concerns: While most accounts describe attentive staff, there are serious, contrary reports mentioning wandering residents, unattended individuals, and safety incidents. These comments stand in sharp contrast to the otherwise positive portrayals of care and supervision. The presence of such reports suggests either isolated incidents or intermittent lapses in supervision or protocols. Regardless of frequency, mentions of wandering and unattended residents are important red flags because they implicate resident safety and require investigation, transparency, and corrective measures from management.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is a highly personal, compassionate care environment with good amenities and stable staff—but with two recurring operational weaknesses: unreliable phone access and at least some reports of supervision/safety lapses. Families considering this facility should weigh the strong endorsements of staff, dining, and activities against those reported communications and safety concerns. Prospective families should ask management for current staffing ratios, incident history, detailed safety protocols (elopement/wandering prevention), and a reliable set of contact methods (direct line, mobile contact, or escalation contacts). For facility leadership, priorities are clear: fix the phone/voicemail system and publish alternative contact procedures immediately, and review supervision protocols and incident reporting to address any causes of wandering or unattended resident incidents.

Conclusion: Caissa Assisted Living Home Inc. earns strong praise for its compassionate, family-oriented care, clean and comfortable environment, and engaging amenities, with particular staff members and leaders receiving high marks. However, the recurring communication failures and the presence of safety-related complaints warrant attention. These issues do not negate the many positive reports, but they are significant enough that families should verify current corrective actions and safeguards before placement.
