Extended Family II is a family owned and managed assisted living home serving the Mesa community since 1996. The home is deeply rooted in a tradition of personalized care, prioritizing the well-being, individuality, and comfort of each resident. The focus at Extended Family II is on creating a secure, warm home environment where residents can truly feel part of an extended family. The home is licensed for a maximum of ten residents, allowing the staff to provide dedicated and tailored attention to everyone in their care.
At Extended Family II, each aspect of daily life is thoughtfully designed to support resident independence and dignity. They encourage every resident to maintain and improve their quality of life at their own pace. There are no rigid schedules for waking up or going to bed; instead, routines are shaped around the unique needs and preferences of each resident or their care plan. Breakfast is a particularly flexible time, beginning as early as six in the morning and ending as late as ten, with each meal freshly prepared to order. Cooks on staff are able to accommodate a wide variety of diets and requests, ensuring that nutritional needs and personal tastes are always met.
Dementia and Alzheimer’s care is a major area of focus at Extended Family II. The home is specially designed to be safe and accessible for residents with memory care needs, featuring ADA-compliant bathrooms, hallways, and doorways. Both private and semi-private rooms are available, depending on the home, and each resident benefits from an individualized call system chosen to best suit their needs. The staff are trained to assist with administering insulin, medications, and IV treatments, with many services being covered by health insurance where applicable.
Extended Family II is committed to providing an all-inclusive rate structure, which makes it easy for families to plan for their loved ones’ care. The environment emphasizes safety and security, while also encouraging residents to stay engaged with daily activities. Residents are supported in performing activities of daily living that may have become challenging due to disease progression, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s. The approach to care is to offer every individual the time and encouragement needed to maintain or regain their abilities, fostering a sense of purpose and accomplishment in everyday life.
