    Spotless building, caring staff, pricey

I chose The Summit and I'm very happy - the building is spotless and beautifully maintained, and the staff are genuinely caring, know residents by name, and made us feel like family. The food (great chef), varied activities, and attentive medical/memory-care gave me real peace of mind. Management, maintenance, and housekeeping are responsive and the move-in support was smooth. Downsides: it's on the pricier side and I've seen occasional laundry/staffing hiccups or curt interactions, but overall I highly recommend it.

    About Summit At Sunland Springs

Summit At Sunland Springs is a family-owned, locally operated senior living community that offers independent living, assisted living, memory care services, and skilled nursing, all on one campus, and the place welcomes pets, which makes a difference for a lot of folks who don't like to leave their animals behind, and they've even got space outdoors for strolls and a well-kept garden if you want some fresh air or a bit of quiet. The community is designed to support residents as they age, so someone can get more care if they need it, and the staff are there 24/7, always awake at night, making sure people are safe, and they're trained to help with things like bathing, dressing, medication management, or just helping out in ways that help people stay as independent as possible without making them feel helpless. Their memory care section has special programs and extra safety features, such as an individualized call system and fall prevention using SafelyYou AI-enabled cameras, which helps keep folks with Alzheimer's or dementia from wandering or getting lost, and the staff check in with everyone often, working with nurses and doctors who come right to the community.

Summit At Sunland Springs is a bigger place, with 176 beds in assisted living and a second phase of assisted living that opened up with 108 more units back in 2017, which means there are a variety of living options, whether someone wants a private room, a studio with an alcove, a one-bedroom, or a two-bedroom, and they even offer shared residential homes, so there's plenty of choices depending on needs and budgets. There's a big focus on keeping things clean and well-maintained, with laundry and housekeeping included, and staff who are known for being kind and friendly. Home-cooked meals are made daily with good ingredients, and helpers can assist at mealtime if needed, and there's easy access to Wi-Fi, cable, phone, and high-speed internet, which helps folks stay connected, while all the basics are handled like transportation to doctors, laundry on each floor, and salon services like manicures and haircuts right on site.

Amenities are simple but appreciated-a courtyard everyone likes, a fitness room, a movie theater, a library, walking paths, and lots of spaces for visiting family and group activities, and a full calendar of daily events, crafts, outings, and even things like DreamFlights Day, which bring a bit of joy and variety to life. Summit At Sunland Springs also offers medical and medication monitoring year-round, wound therapy, personal hygiene support, and help for those who need hospice or home health, so people don't have to move if their needs change, and they work with in-house physicians and registered nurses who know the residents well. The community has won awards like Best of Senior Living and All Star, and keeps a neighborhood feel by encouraging friendly staff and lots of volunteer programs. With a community score of 8.4 from reviews and ratings, Summit At Sunland Springs stays focused on providing what's needed-comfort, safety, friendly faces, well-balanced care, and a simple place to call home as people grow older.
