    Caring staff improved my mom

I had a nice tour - the staff were professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. My mom was loved and well cared for: clean facility, comfortable room, respectful, family-like staff who took her on strolls, kept us informed and contacted us promptly when she was sick. Her mood, alertness and quality of life improved; they handled finances/VA patiently. Not the right fit for us, but I highly recommend this location.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Peoria Adult Care Home is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing excellent, attentive care and clear improvements in residents’ quality of life. The most common and emphatic theme is the high caliber of caregiving: reviewers describe residents as well cared for, happier, more alert, and loved by staff. Several comments highlight tangible caregiving actions — staff spending time with residents, taking them on strolls or outings, and responding promptly when a resident is ill — which contributed to families’ confidence and peace of mind.

Staff and culture receive consistent praise. Reviewers used terms such as "awesome," "family-like," and "respectful" to describe the caregiving team. Families note that staff keep them informed and respect residents’ wishes, indicating good communication and person-centered care practices. The administration is also regarded positively: reviewers described the office as friendly, competent with financial matters, and patient and knowledgeable when dealing with VA-related issues. Professionalism during tours was called out by some as well, with staff appearing knowledgeable about the community.

The facility and physical environment are also highlighted as strengths. Multiple reviewers called the community welcoming, clean, and open, and commented on comfortable room sizes. Cleanliness paired with an open, welcoming atmosphere seems to reinforce the sense that residents are living in a well-maintained and pleasant environment rather than an institutional setting.

Areas of relative neutrality or mild concern are limited but worth noting. A few reviewers said the community was "not the right fit" for their particular needs and described the tour as only "okay" or lacking standout features. These comments suggest that while the care and staff quality are strong, some prospective residents and families may not find distinctive amenities or aspects that differentiate this facility from others. It does not indicate specific problems with care, safety, or management, but rather a mismatch of expectations or preferences in certain cases.

Notably absent from these summaries are detailed comments about dining, structured activities, therapy programs, or specific medical services beyond prompt contact when residents are sick. This could mean those areas were not a focus for reviewers (either because they were satisfactory and unremarkable or because they were not a primary concern), so prospective families may want to ask targeted questions about meals, daily programming, and clinical services when touring.

In conclusion, Peoria Adult Care Home appears to offer strong, compassionate caregiving in a clean and welcoming setting, backed by a helpful and professional administration. Many reviewers credit the community with improving their loved ones’ quality of life and would recommend it. Prospective residents should, however, consider whether the community’s particular offerings match their personal preferences and use tours to probe for any specific amenities or services that matter most to them, since a few reviewers noted the tour experience lacked standout features and did not fit everyone’s needs.

    About Peoria Adult Care Home

Peoria Adult Care Home sits quietly on West Sandra Terrace in Peoria, Arizona, offering a secure and supportive place for seniors who need a little extra help every day, and the home fits up to 10 residents, so everyone gets to know each other pretty well and the staff learns each person's needs. The state has given this place a license as an Assisted Living Home (license number AL6555H), and the local government checks on things to make sure they're following the rules, although the license is inactive right now with an expiration date of January 31, 2025. Folks here find a private residential setting, which feels more like a real house than a big institution, with private and semi-private room options, each with their own bathrooms including baths or tubs, and there are shared areas indoors and outdoors for everyone to gather, do activities, or just take in the garden views or walk along the paths.

Families looking for peace of mind will find that the home offers round-the-clock supervision, help with bathing, dressing, and transfers for those who need it, and non-ambulatory care for folks with mobility difficulties. There's regular medication management, and staff coordinate with each resident's healthcare providers to keep medical care on track; if someone needs special diets-like diabetes-friendly, vegetarian, kosher, low sodium, or no sugar-the kitchen will make those accommodations, offering scheduled meals and anytime dining. Residents can bring cats or dogs along since the home is pet friendly, and memory care is available for people with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, with trained staff, secure outdoor areas, and alert systems for safety.

Everyone can join in on activities like art classes, card and pinochle clubs, Bible study, movie nights in the community room, visits from educational speakers, and scheduled daily events, both on-site and out in the community, since the staff arranges transportation for medical appointments and day trips. Household chores get taken care of with full housekeeping, laundry, and dry cleaning services, plus there's a kitchenette for those who want to help with meal prep and a beautician who visits to help residents feel their best. People have access to Wi-Fi and high-speed internet, cable or satellite TV, and phones in rooms for easy communication with loved ones. The home welcomes short-term stays and respite care for families who need a break, and there's incontinence care for those who need help with that too. The building is wheelchair accessible, the showers and walkways are easy to use, and air-conditioning keeps things comfortable all year round. With staff looking after everything from meals to medications to companionship, the atmosphere stays warm and safe, and residents can count on help when they need it while still enjoying chances to be independent, get outside for some air, and spend time with friends old and new.
