    Professional, caring, clean, home-like community

I placed my loved one in this private, home-like senior living and I'm very happy with the decision. The staff are professional, incredibly caring, and address concerns promptly - familiar faces, 24-hour on-site care, and a true family atmosphere. The facility is very clean and well kept; meals are good (pizza days are a hit) and rooms are comfortable-sized (upgrades available at the same cost). They offer engaging activities - petting zoo, musicians/storytellers, guitar, beauty day - plus TV/Internet in-room and a Facebook portal for calls and regular updates. Our family saw improved communication and dementia management; visits are easy without appointments (there's no phone in-room but the staff are wonderful). I highly recommend taking a tour.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the reviews is strongly positive, with the most consistent praise directed at the staff and the level of personal care provided. Multiple reviewers describe staff as wonderful, caring, professional, and attentive; the environment is repeatedly characterized as family-like, with familiar caregivers who build relationships with residents. Reviewers emphasize that concerns are addressed promptly and that the staff contribute significantly to residents’ well-being, including reported improvements in dementia symptoms and communication for at least one resident.

Care quality and availability are highlighted as strengths. The facility offers 24-hour on-site care, and reviewers felt comfortable with the responsiveness and competence of the team. Families appreciate regular updates and communication—several reviews mention routine updates and the availability of a Facebook portal for video calls—helping relatives stay connected. The combination of consistent caregivers and transparent communication fosters trust and reassures family members about resident safety and quality of life.

Facility and accommodations are viewed positively overall but with caveats. Reviewers frequently note that the building is very clean, well maintained, and comfortable in a private home–style manner rather than institutional. Many residents have good-sized rooms, and one review specifically mentions a room upgrade offered at the same cost. Rooms include amenities such as TV and internet. At the same time, reviewers point out that the home is not fancy or luxurious, and several suggest rooms could be larger. A notable drawback mentioned by one reviewer is the lack of a telephone in the resident’s room—something families may want to confirm during a tour.

Dining and activities receive favorable comments. Meals are described as good, with special touches like pizza days that residents enjoy. Activities are varied and engaging—examples include petting zoos, visiting musicians and storytellers, guitar performances, and beauty day with included hair and nail services. These programs contribute to a lively social environment and help with engagement and quality of life for residents.

Accessibility and visiting are strengths: reviewers appreciate that it is easy to visit residents without an appointment and that the location is close to home for families. The layout of bedrooms facing inward toward a main social area appears to support social interaction, although it may be perceived differently depending on privacy preferences.

In summary, Mimosa Springs Assisted Living is consistently portrayed as a clean, well-kept, home-like facility with strong, compassionate staff and a good array of activities and amenities that support resident engagement and family communication. The main trade-offs reported are modest room size for some residents, a lack of luxury finishes, and the absence of an in-room phone—practical points to confirm on a tour. Reviewers overall highly recommend visiting the campus and frequently advise prospective families to take a tour to confirm fit and specific room options.

    About Mimosa Springs Assisted Living

Mimosa Springs Assisted Living sits off McDowell Road and the 101 in Scottsdale, with 42 beds dedicated to Alzheimer's and dementia care, and you'll find the place has a real home-like feeling that puts people at ease. People here can expect directed care, which is the highest level in assisted living homes, and the staff includes certified caregivers and medication technicians, while full-time activities staff fill days with things like arts and crafts, bird therapy, gardening, music, table games, and movie time, plus group and individual subacute activities seven days a week. The community keeps its atmosphere relaxed and social, with spaces like the Mimosa Springs Courtyard, Plaza Diner, an activity room, a TV room, and little comforts like a beauty shop, wireless internet, premium cable TV, a library, computer access, and in-room dining, so there's always a place to feel comfortable or chat with others. Chefs and meal planners prepare nutritious meals every day, always keeping special diets and personal needs in mind, and the staff assists with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and medication management. There's a strong focus on memory care, with programs for dementia and Alzheimer's residents to keep them engaged and support their dignity and independence, and the facility includes 24-hour skilled nursing care, physician visits, health monitoring, physical and occupational therapy, and medication management, all in an environment designed to reduce confusion and prevent wandering. Individualized care plans get made with help from a nurse practitioner, and the team has special training in Alzheimer's and dementia care, making sure activities and services are tailored to each person's needs and abilities, so everyone gets the right attention. There's a hairstylist on-site and religious services and programs if people want them, and the whole community is built for easy access, with Wi-Fi, high-speed internet, safe walking areas, parking, and transportation options for residents and visitors. Mimosa Springs is proud to be the original Alzheimer's community in Scottsdale and holds a deficiency-free status with the Arizona Department of Health Services, which means recent inspections found no major issues. The facility finished phase one renovations with fresh flooring, new furniture, lighting, paint, fixtures, and window coverings in the rooms and bathrooms, with phase two planned for the activities room, TV room, hallways, and dining areas starting mid-summer 2024. Tours are available both on-site and virtually for anyone considering moving in, and the listing is verified for current licensing with biannual reviews by A Place for Mom.
