    About Yuma Senior Living

Yuma Senior Living offers both independent and assisted living, along with memory care and respite stays in a recently updated setting that's easy to get around and right near shopping, dining, and Yuma Regional Hospital, so people can stay connected and close to what they need. Residents run many of their own activities, support each other, and work with staff who are known for being kind and helpful, making the place feel friendly and welcoming, which sometimes you notice right away when you walk in and see people with their pets out in the dog park or in the garden area, or folks gathering in one of several activity rooms for games, movie nights, or art. The community supports a pet-friendly approach and even has a special dog park, so anyone who loves animals won't have to give that up. Staff prepare all meals on site, with a chef who knows how to handle allergies or special diets, including for diabetes, and there's restaurant-style dining with all-day options, so residents can pick when and what to eat, keeping nutrition balanced with quality ingredients, and there's a community kitchen too for those who still like to cook or bake together. Large one-bedroom suites come furnished and include private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, Wi-Fi, telephone, and air conditioning, and all the apartments include utilities, daily meals, and weekly housekeeping as part of an all-inclusive plan, so you don't have to worry about a lot of bills piling up or fussing with chores. Memory care is available in a special neighborhood built in 2020, offering secure outdoor areas, alert systems for wandering, and rooms that are the biggest you'll find for memory support in Yuma, with trained staff providing daily check-ins and personalized care for folks with Alzheimer's or dementia, and the assisted living side covers help with bathing, dressing, medications, mobility, and other daily needs, with options so people can decide what support they want. Nurses are on duty 12-16 hours a day, and there's a 24-hour call system, so help's never far off if needed, which gives peace of mind to everyone involved, and staff can speak English and other languages for clear communication. Housekeeping, laundry, and even dry cleaning are available, plus a concierge to help with details or answer questions, including support for families figuring out the best options, though Yuma Senior Living isn't ALTCS eligible at this time, but placement agents will help connect families with the right kind of care, payment help, veterans' benefits, or home care if needed. Outside, there's plenty to do with fitness and walking paths, a community garden, spaces for devotion, and several outdoor seating areas, all part of the recent renovations, and the place is kept clean and modern. The movie theater, spa/wellness room, library, and music & arts room offer chances for socializing, entertainment, and learning, while staff encourage everyone to join community events, scheduled activities, and other programs meant to support health, wellness, and staying mentally active. Transportation and parking are provided, including help when moving in, and there's a focus on safety throughout, with incontinence and diabetic care, non-ambulatory support, ancillary services, and an emergency alert system. Respite stays are available up to 30 days, offering all of the same amenities as permanent residents, which is helpful for those who only need care for a short time or if families need a break. The community aims for everyone to have choices, a safe place to live, and the ability to stay as independent as possible for as long as they can.
