    Friendly community but security concerns

I've lived here for years and overall it's a clean, quiet 55+ community with friendly neighbors, helpful/professional staff, an excellent manager, fun activities, a nice park and a very convenient location near stores and the bus. That said, I worry about safety at the front gate - homeless/drug activity and some rude tenants have led to harassment and vigilante behavior, and maintenance (carpet) and occasional staff responsiveness can be inconsistent. I like living here but can't fully recommend it until security and upkeep improve; prices also feel high for many seniors.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment for Safari Mobile Lodge is mixed, with a substantial number of positive comments about staff, management, community atmosphere, and location balanced against serious safety and maintenance concerns raised by other reviewers. Many reviewers describe the community as a pleasant, quiet, and well-kept place to live, especially for long-term residents and those seeking an age-restricted (55+) environment. Positive notes emphasize professional and helpful staff, a responsive maintenance team, quick emergency response, a caring and attentive manager, and an affordable cost structure for space rent and home prices. Several reviewers specifically call out the convenient location — close to stores and a bus stop — and the availability of fun activities, a nice park, and a generally friendly neighborhood dynamic.

Staff and management receive largely favorable comments but with notable contradictions. Multiple reviewers praise the office and maintenance teams as friendly and professional, and at least one review singles out an "awesome manager" who takes good care of residents. These positive experiences include quick emergency response and respectful privacy for residents. Conversely, other reviews accuse staff of not helping residents and point to neglect in maintenance tasks (carpet issues were specifically mentioned). This split suggests variability in service quality that may depend on timing, staff shifts, or individual expectations; prospective residents should ask targeted questions and, if possible, speak with current residents about consistency of service.

Facilities, maintenance, and appearance are also areas of mixed feedback. On the positive side, several reviewers describe the grounds and homes as neat, clean, and quiet. The park and outdoor spaces are appreciated, and many residents report a comfortable living environment. On the negative side, some reviewers report neglected maintenance — carpets singled out — and comments that parts of the property "look bad." These opposing views indicate that while much of the community appears well-maintained to many residents, there are instances or areas where upkeep is insufficient.

Safety and community behavior are the most serious concerns raised. Multiple reviews describe safety issues near the gate or entrance, including reports of drug activity and homeless individuals congregating by the front gate. There are also reports of rude, harassing, or unprofessional behavior by some residents, and even vigilante actions. These issues create a perception among some reviewers that the community is not fully secure or well-managed in terms of tenant conduct and access control. Conversely, others explicitly call the park "nice" and the site "safe," so these safety concerns may be intermittent or localized. Prospective residents should inquire about security measures, gate controls, incident reporting, and recent efforts by management to address loitering or trespassing.

Community life and activities are generally viewed positively. Comments about fun activities, friendly neighbors, and long-term residents suggest a stable social environment for those who have positive experiences. However, the presence of some rude or harassing tenants implies the social atmosphere may vary building by building or between different social groups within the park.

Notably, there is little or no specific information about dining services, healthcare or clinical care, and structured medical support in these summaries. The feedback is concentrated on management responsiveness, staff behavior, safety, maintenance, location, affordability, and community dynamics.

Recommendation for prospective residents: weigh the positive reports about staff, management, community amenities, and affordability against the safety and maintenance concerns raised by other reviewers. Visit the property at different times of day, ask management about recent security incidents and how they were handled, speak directly with current residents about consistency of maintenance and staff responsiveness, and review any park rules and enforcement practices. Doing so will help determine whether the mostly positive aspects will be your lived experience or whether the reported safety and upkeep issues are likely to be problematic.
