    Exceptional compassionate dementia care facility

I placed my mom at Splendor Valley and couldn't be happier. The home is spotless and welcoming, and owners Marisa & Mark and their warm, professional staff provide 24/7, personalized care with dignity for dementia patients, excellent meals, activities, and tight hospice/medical coordination. They kept our family informed, treated residents like family, and my mom was clean, engaged and comfortable - real peace of mind. I highly recommend this safe, loving community.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Splendor Valley are overwhelmingly positive. Families consistently praise the facility for compassionate, highly attentive care and for creating a home‑like, dignified environment—especially for residents with dementia. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the professionalism, warmth, and genuine investment of the caregivers and owners, naming Marisa and Mark as hands‑on administrators who keep lines of communication open with families. The consistent themes are personalized care, cleanliness, strong family communication, and peace of mind for relatives.

Care quality and staff: One of the strongest, most recurrent themes is staff quality. Reviewers use terms such as caring, loving, kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and professional to describe the caregiving team. Families report individualized attention (one‑on‑one care), proactive monitoring, and prompt notification of health changes. Several reviews note the staff’s ability to preserve residents’ dignity, manage dementia respectfully, and coordinate effectively with hospice and other healthcare providers. Specific clinical positives mentioned include bed‑sore recovery, skin issue resolution, and pharmacist expertise on staff—indicating solid medical oversight in addition to daily caregiving. The facility’s 24/7 availability and owners being on-site contribute to reviewers’ confidence.

Facilities, cleanliness, and safety: Splendor Valley is described as immaculate and spotless with no odors; many reviews emphasize how clean and well‑maintained both residents and the home are. The environment is characterized as warm, inviting, and tastefully decorated, with holiday decorations and a family atmosphere that make it feel like home. Safety and infection control are repeatedly mentioned as priorities. Physical amenities cited include private rooms (some with doors leading directly to a gazebo), comfortable furnishings (La‑Z‑Boy recliners, hospital beds, large TVs), a picturesque walking garden, and pleasant mountain views. These features, together with a quiet neighborhood, contribute to a calm and comfortable resident experience.

Dining and activities: Meals are frequently praised for being fresh, homemade‑style, varied, and sometimes tailored to resident preferences (including low‑salt options). Multiple reviews mention food served on china and special accommodations for favorite meals—details that underscore the home‑like nature of dining. Activities are described as engaging yet gentle: puzzles, music, TV, daily walks, and wheelchair strolls in the garden are typical. Reviewers also note holiday celebrations and staff efforts to create a stimulating, cheerful atmosphere.

Management, communication, and family accommodation: Management receives consistent acclaim for being organized, compassionate, and personally involved. Owners Marisa and Mark (or Marisa Lu) are specifically mentioned for going the extra mile: keeping families informed, arranging visits for large family gatherings, accommodating special requests, and using Zoom during times of restricted visitation (e.g., pandemic) to include families remotely. Families report clear, compassionate communication and timely updates about health status. The home’s small size supports a family‑style approach—staff know residents well and can provide individualized updates. Reviewers often state they feel relieved and grateful for the trustworthiness and responsiveness of the management team.

Notable patterns and limitations: Consistently positive remarks dominate, but a few limitations appear in multiple comments. The facility’s small size—cited as an advantage for intimacy and individualized care—also creates practical constraints: reviewers note limited availability, an initial wait for openings, smaller rooms, and at least one timing issue during move‑in. A small number of families found the location inconvenient. These points suggest that while care quality is high, prospective families may face waiting lists, spatial limitations, or travel inconvenience depending on where they live.

Overall assessment: Taken together, the reviews depict Splendor Valley as a high‑quality, small board‑and‑care home with exceptional staff, excellent infection control and cleanliness, personalized dementia and end‑of‑life care, and a strong commitment to family communication. The facility’s strengths are its intimate, home‑like environment, hands‑on owners, and consistent, compassionate caregiving that affords families peace of mind. The main tradeoffs are limited capacity, occasional move‑in timing issues, and location concerns for some visitors. For families seeking individualized, dignified care in a clean, small‑house setting—particularly when hospice coordination and close family involvement are priorities—Splendor Valley consistently receives very strong recommendations.
