    Caring small home, few issues

I placed my loved one here and I'm very grateful - the staff and owner are kind, loving and engaged, the caregivers are excellent, it feels like a modern, family-style home with home-cooked meals and individualized care and 24-hr staff. Downsides: strict 7:30 pm bedtime, limited in-room evening activities and TV rules in shared rooms, no yard fence and a busy street are security/noise concerns. Small (5 residents) home; rates start at $2,600 for shared and $3,300 for private - I highly recommend overall.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive, with reviewers consistently highlighting the home-like atmosphere, caring staff, and individualized attention available at Reina's Residential Care #1. Multiple reviewers emphasize that the facility is small (capacity for five residents), which supports a family-style environment and close, personalized caregiving. The presence of on-site 24-hour staff and owner involvement are repeatedly cited as strengths, contributing to trust and satisfaction among families. The physical setting is described as modern and nice, with a comfortable backyard that residents and families appreciate.

Care quality and staff: Reviews convey that caregivers are kind, loving, and attentive. The owner’s hands-on involvement is noted, and families frequently mention that staff provide individualized care and show genuine affection. Several reviewers explicitly state they are grateful and would highly recommend the facility, indicating strong satisfaction with daily care and staff responsiveness. The small size of the home appears to facilitate more tailored attention and a family-style dynamic rather than an institutional one.

Facilities and location: The home is described as modern and pleasant inside, and the outdoor space (a nice backyard) is a positive feature. However, location and outdoor security raise concerns: the property sits on a busy street, and reviewers specifically note there is no yard fence, which some see as a safety issue for residents who might wander or for families wanting secure outdoor space. Rooming options include shared and private rooms; reviewers mention that accommodations are “perfect,” though some shared-room arrangements come with certain restrictions (for example, on TV use).

Dining and daily life: Dining is a clear positive — reviewers mention home-cooked meals and a family-style setting where meals are provided. This contributes to the homelike atmosphere and is a commonly praised aspect. The small size of the home also supports personalized meal attention and a communal feel around dining.

Activities and routines: There is a mixed but important theme around activities and daily routines. Some reviewers state there are no planned activities and express concern about lack of in-room options in the evenings, including restrictions on TV in shared rooms and an inflexible bedtime reportedly at 7:30 PM. Conversely, other reviewers note that caregivers and the owner engage residents in activities, suggesting that programming may be informal or variable depending on staffing, resident needs, or times. This inconsistency is a notable pattern: families who value structured activities and late-evening engagement may find the facility lacking, while others appreciate the individualized, interpersonal engagement provided by staff.

Policies, costs, and overall trade-offs: The reviews mention rates starting at $2,600 for a shared room and $3,300 for a private room. While reviewers overall express gratitude and recommend the home, prospective families should weigh the cost against the size and scope of services (very personalized care in a small home versus more extensive activity programming or secured outdoor space). The small, five-resident capacity is a double-edged point: it enables close attention and a home-like environment but may limit social diversity and formal activity offerings.

Conclusion: Reina's Residential Care #1 is consistently portrayed as a warm, modern, and well-staffed small residential care home with strong, compassionate caregivers and owner involvement. It is particularly well-suited for families seeking individualized attention and a home-cooked, family-style living situation. Areas to probe further in a tour or conversation with management include the facility’s activity programming (especially evening options), policies around bedtime and shared-room TV use, and outdoor security given the busy street and lack of a yard fence. These details will help families determine whether the environment’s strengths align with their loved one’s behavioral, activity, and safety needs.
