    Lovely well-staffed community with caveats

I toured this lovely, home-like community and was impressed - spotless, well-maintained rooms and grounds, patios and gardens, roomy apartments with good storage, tasty meals in an attractive dining room, and a wide variety of daily activities and therapy. The staff - nurses, CNAs, cooks, therapists and housekeepers - were consistently caring, professional and attentive, which made the place feel safe and like family. A few reports warned of medication, shower and billing problems and management lapses, so I recommend visiting, asking direct questions, and checking records before deciding.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with a clear emphasis on quality hands-on care, a welcoming atmosphere, and well-maintained facilities. The most frequently mentioned strengths are the caregiving staff — CNAs, nurses, and therapy personnel — who are described as outstanding, compassionate, attentive, consistent, and family-like. Many reviewers highlight 24/7 attentive care, staff who hold hands and talk with residents, and personnel who help with feeding and bathing in a gentle manner. Rehab services and physical therapy receive repeated praise; reviewers describe the facility as rehab-focused with wonderful and helpful therapists who encourage recovery.

Facility and environment receive uniformly strong marks: the building and grounds are described as clean, orderly, and well-maintained. Specific compliments include spacious, well-designed rooms with ample cabinet space, regular linen changes, and routinely cleaned flooring. Public spaces — wide hallways, large community rooms, an attractive and spacious dining room, landscaped courtyards, patios, and lush gardens — are repeatedly noted as contributing to a home-like and pleasant atmosphere. Many reviewers mention holiday decorations and special events that enhance the sense of community.

Dining and dietary services are another standout area. Reviews commonly cite tasty, hot meals made with quality ingredients, good variety across three meals a day, and a dining experience that is appealing and family-friendly (including a family dining room). The director of food and beverage is noted as being highly engaged, with almost-daily visits to the dining room reported by at least one reviewer. Multiple reviewers explicitly state that residents "never missed a meal despite challenges," indicating reliable meal service even under pressure.

Activities and social life are also highlighted: there are daily activities, weekly live entertainment, singalongs, bingo, and other programs that keep residents in good spirits. Dedicated activities staff are praised for planning meaningful events and encouraging participation. This programming, combined with the facility’s gardens and patios, appears to promote physical activity, social engagement, and an overall homelike environment.

Support services beyond direct care are mentioned positively as well: housekeeping, laundry, cooks, and an in-house salon are referenced as efficient and helpful contributors to residents’ comfort. Multiple reviews use words like "top-rate," "five-star," and "highly recommended," indicating a strong overall endorsement from many families and residents.

However, there are serious negative reports that should not be overlooked. A minority of reviews allege medication errors, shower neglect (missed bathing), unauthorized billing, and characterize management as dishonest or incompetent. One reviewer explicitly states they do not recommend the facility, noting that it "looks nice" but raising concerns about leadership and billing practices. These complaints are relatively infrequent compared with the volume of positive feedback, but they are significant because they involve safety (medication errors) and trust (billing and management integrity).

In summary, the dominant themes are excellent direct care, a compassionate and consistent staff, effective rehab services, clean and attractive facilities, high-quality dining, and robust activity programming that fosters a home-like environment. The primary caveat is the presence of a few serious allegations regarding clinical safety and administrative practices. Prospective residents and families should weigh the overwhelmingly positive, repeated praise for frontline staff and environment against the isolated but serious management-related complaints. Practical steps for due diligence would include asking Creekview Health Center directly about medication administration protocols, billing procedures and oversight, staff turnover rates, and how they investigate and remediate complaints, while also requesting recent inspection reports and references from current families to better understand whether the negative incidents are isolated or indicate an ongoing problem.

    About Creekview Health Center

Creekview Health Center sits at 2900 Stoneridge Drive in Pleasanton, CA, and provides 24-hour healthcare for seniors who need nursing, rehabilitation, or memory care and the building itself feels comfortable and modern while the staff, including Lorelyn Baybayan, Bea Lambert, Patrick McElroy, and Lindsay Nordin, work to keep the environment welcoming and compassionate, so residents often say it feels like home and staff treat people like family. The facility is a for-profit limited liability company operated by the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, and they've got awards for Best Meals and Dining, Best Activities, and Most Friendly, which points to the strong work they're doing with meals, activities, and a positive mood across the day. Creekview accepts Medicare but doesn't take Medicaid, so residents and families should know about payment options before making plans, and it's clear they focus a lot on medical and supportive care, offering skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care services, and both inpatient and outpatient rehab. Registered nurses and therapists provide hands-on help, from stroke recovery and cardiac therapy to wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, and pain management, plus there's speech, occupational, and physical therapies, and special support for people with diabetes, high-level care needs, memory loss, or trouble walking. The secure memory care unit handles personal care needs like incontinence, daily medications, and help with bathing or moving about, which is important for families worried about safety. Onsite, Creekview offers dining in a restaurant-style setting and lets residents enjoy meals that can be customized as part of the life enrichment program, and there's a rehab gym where people can meet up and build friendships while working to get stronger. The activities are designed to match each resident's interests and energy levels, which helps people stay active, and transportation and parking services make it easier for people to come and go as they need. There are also specialized services from homemaking and recreational therapy to pharmacy access, mental health, lab work, and nutritional counseling, so most needs are covered under one roof. The entire place tries to keep things clean and comfortable, with rooms that feel like home rather than a hospital and a focus on kind, personal care throughout the day. Creekview's website has more details for anyone who wants a closer look, and there's a member login portal for families or residents who need to access information online.
