    Clean, caring staff but expensive

I moved my mom here and overall I'm pleased: the place is very clean, homey and quiet, rooms and parking are nice, staff are kind and capable (excellent at bathing/dressing), management is attentive, and 24-hour caregivers helped improve her health and disposition while providing safe, nourishing meals and activities. A few caregivers have a language barrier and can be unhelpful at times, and my dad didn't care for the cooking. It's very expensive and they never explained any added value, so that's my main reservation.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Ageway Senior Care is predominantly positive, with reviewers repeatedly highlighting cleanliness, caring staff, and a homelike atmosphere. Multiple comments emphasize that the facility is very clean with no urine odor, and that rooms are nice. The setting is described as quiet and non-institutional, which several reviewers appreciated. Practical conveniences such as on-site parking and transportation to a senior center for activities were also noted as positives.

Care quality is frequently praised. Reviewers report that caregivers are kind and compassionate, competent at personal care tasks (grooming, bathing, dressing), and provide 24-hour staffing. Several accounts specifically mention health improvements and improved disposition in residents, indicating effective day-to-day care. Safety is called out as a strength of the facility, and reviewers used terms like "excellent caregivers" and "staff good at grooming and changing mom," suggesting reliability in hands-on care.

Staff and management are depicted largely favorably, with multiple reviews citing an attentive and responsive owner/manager and generally friendly staff. This responsiveness appears to contribute to perceived improvements in resident well-being. That said, there is some inconsistency in the feedback: while many reviewers call staff kind and helpful, at least one review describes staff as unhelpful, indicating occasional variability in staff performance or communication.

Facilities and environment receive strong marks for cleanliness and atmosphere; the facility is repeatedly described as "very clean" and "homey, not institutional." The quiet neighborhood and lack of odors were specifically mentioned, reinforcing the impression of a well-maintained physical environment. However, one or more reviewers judged the facilities as only "fair," which suggests that while cleanliness and atmosphere are strengths, there may be aspects of the physical plant or amenities that do not meet everyone’s expectations.

Dining and activities show mixed but generally positive feedback. Several reviewers called meals nourishing and the menu "good," but there is at least one explicit criticism that the cooking was "not to dad’s liking." Activities include transportation to a senior center, which reviewers appreciated as a way to engage residents outside the facility. The mixed feedback on food suggests that personal preferences may affect satisfaction and that menu variety or customization could be an area to explore further with prospective residents.

Notable concerns that appear across reviews are the cost and occasional communication issues. One review explicitly calls the facility "very expensive" and says there was no explanation of added value, indicating a perception that pricing may be high relative to perceived benefits for some families. Another recurring theme is a language barrier with some caregivers, which can affect communication and comfort for residents and families. Taken together with the isolated comment about unhelpful staff and a "fair" assessment of facilities by one reviewer, these items point to variability in experience that prospective families should clarify when evaluating the community.

In summary, Ageway Senior Care is characterized in reviews as a clean, safe, and home-like facility with caring staff, competent personal care, and an attentive manager. These strengths appear to produce measurable benefits for residents, including improved disposition and health. Areas to probe further based on the reviews are dining fit for individual tastes, potential language barriers with some caregivers, occasional reports of unhelpful staff, and the facility’s pricing relative to perceived value. Prospective residents and families would benefit from an in-person visit and direct questions about staffing language capabilities, meal customization options, and a clear breakdown of costs and services to ensure the community matches their priorities.
