    Filthy building infested with pests

0 stars - avoid, stay far away. I found a filthy, rundown building with spacious but dirty rooms, roaches, bedbugs and rats; unsafe conditions and no activities. Management has neglected resident well-being and staff are quitting over lack of benefits, though a few employees have been kind and new management claims to listen. I'll update with time.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these review summaries for Heather Grove is strongly negative, dominated by serious cleanliness and pest problems and concerns about resident safety and care. Multiple reviewers explicitly report roach and bed bug infestations, sightings of rats, and general unclean, run-down conditions. Those issues are framed not merely as isolated nuisances but as health and safety risks and evidence of neglect of resident well-being. Several reviewers explicitly recommend avoiding the facility and give the place the lowest possible rating, which indicates a high level of urgency and dissatisfaction among some observers.

Care quality and resident well-being: The reviews express significant concerns about the standard of care. Reviewers cite neglect of resident well-being alongside the pest and cleanliness problems, implying that the environment may be unsafe or unhealthy for vulnerable residents. There is also a staffing concern: reviews mention staff quitting due to lack of benefits, which can exacerbate continuity-of-care problems and reduce the facility's ability to meet residents' needs consistently.

Staff and management: Feedback about personnel is mixed. On the negative side, reviewers call out poor management and describe staff turnover tied to inadequate benefits. On the positive side, some reviewers note "nice management," "nice staff," that staff "listen to residents' needs," and that staff are "helpful." The mention of "under new management" suggests a potential change in leadership; one reviewer indicates they will update over time, which implies some reviewers hope the new management could address outstanding problems. Overall, though, the coexistence of praise for individual staff and broader complaints about management and staffing stability suggests inconsistency: there may be dedicated employees doing good work amid systemic operational issues.

Facilities and cleanliness: The facility's physical condition is a central theme. Descriptions include "dirty," "run down," and "uncomfortable," and the more acute problems are the reports of bed bugs, roaches, and rats. These specific pest reports elevate the concern level from general maintenance issues to immediate health and safety hazards. Positive notes about the physical environment are limited but include mention of "spacious rooms," indicating that some aspects of the facility layout or unit size are acceptable.

Activities and programming: Reviewers note that there are "no activities anymore," suggesting a reduction or cessation of social or recreational programming. This type of decline can negatively affect residents' quality of life even when basic care continues. Dining is not commented on in the provided summaries, so there is no clear evidence either positive or negative about meals or food service.

Patterns and notable contradictions: The reviews show a clear pattern of serious sanitation and pest problems paired with staffing and management challenges. At the same time, multiple comments praise individual staff members and reference new management, creating a contradictory picture: some reviewers experience or observe major operational failures, while others recognize caring staff and potential leadership changes. This suggests variability over time or across different units/shifts, and it underscores the importance of current, on-site verification of conditions before making decisions.

Conclusion and context-based recommendation: Based solely on these summaries, Heather Grove is currently characterized by severe cleanliness and pest-control failures and by concerns about management and staffing stability, which together raise red flags about resident safety and quality of care. There are, however, isolated positive signals—helpful staff, attentive employees, spacious rooms, and a reported management change—that could indicate potential for improvement if leadership addresses the systemic issues. Given the reported severity of infestations and health risks, reviewers strongly advised avoiding the facility; the mentions of new management suggest re-evaluation over time could be warranted if substantive corrective actions are visible.
