    Friendly staff rundown dangerous depressing

I live here. The staff are friendly and caring, but the building is old, dark, run-down and in need of updates. Smoking and drug use are common, often right at doors, and enforcement is nonexistent-a constant nuisance for nonsmokers. Rooms are private but there's no in-room bathroom (shared showers), dangerous stairs, broken doors, hazardous decks and poor lighting make it high fall-risk. Food felt like microwave meals with no vegetables; overall depressing and not worth the price.

    Summary review

Overall impression: The reviews present a mixed but mostly negative picture of Lennox Guest Home where the strongest and most consistent positive theme is the quality of staff interaction, contrasted sharply with numerous, recurring concerns about the physical facility, safety, cleanliness, and management/operations. Many reviewers praise the people who work there — staff are described as friendly, caring and resident-focused — but these strengths appear to be outweighed for many reviewers by environmental and operational problems that affect safety and daily life.

Staff and care quality: The most consistently positive feedback centers on staff attitude and direct resident care. Multiple reviewers describe staff as great, friendly and attentive, and say the staff are focused on residents’ needs. This suggests that on a day-to-day, interpersonal level residents can receive kind and supportive treatment. However, there is at least one report of a rude/unprofessional phone interaction, indicating occasional problems with management or administrative communication that prospective residents or families should note.

Facilities, safety, and cleanliness: The facility itself receives repeated criticism. Several reviewers describe the building as old, run-down, and needing updating or painting. Specific safety hazards are mentioned repeatedly: dangerous stairs, bad lighting and dark hallways, broken exterior doors, hazardous decks and leaves, and a generally high fall risk. Cleanliness is also a concern — phrases such as “not clean” and “unsanitary” appear. The combination of poor lighting, stair hazards, shared bathrooms, and uneven/outdoor hazards are significant red flags for fall risk and general resident safety, particularly for those with mobility issues.

Housing and bathroom setup: While private rooms are available and noted positively, those rooms often lack in-room bathrooms; instead residents use shared community bathrooms and showers. Some reviews call this out explicitly as a negative, especially for residents who need privacy, frequent bathroom access, or help with toileting. The presence of private rooms is a plus, but the shared-bathroom arrangement is a meaningful limitation that should be considered.

Dining and nutrition: Comments about food are mixed but include notable complaints. A few reviewers say the food is good, but others report microwave meals, low-quality and unhealthy food, and a lack of vegetables. These differing accounts suggest variability in meal quality or differing expectations among reviewers; nevertheless, concerns about nutrition and reliance on microwaved options are important for prospective residents, especially those with dietary restrictions or specific nutritional needs.

Smoking and substance concerns: A recurring and serious theme is poor non-smoking enforcement. Reviewers report smoking near doors, smoking outside rooms (bothering nonsmokers), and, in at least one comment, concerns about smoking and drug use on premises. This indicates ongoing policy enforcement problems that can impact air quality, safety, and comfort for non-smoking residents.

Atmosphere, activities, and value: Several reviewers describe the atmosphere as depressing or not lively, suggesting limited activities or engagement opportunities. The building’s unimpressive appearance and worn condition likely contribute to this mood. Multiple reviewers also feel the facility represents poor value given the state of the building, safety issues, and variable food quality.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is a strong personal-staff positive contrasted with widespread, specific negatives about the building, cleanliness, safety hazards, dining, and policy enforcement. For families and prospective residents: if warm, attentive staff and private rooms are top priorities and you can accept an older building with shared bathrooms and known maintenance issues, Lennox Guest Home may be a fit. If you prioritize a modern, well-maintained facility, robust fall-prevention features, reliable non-smoking enforcement, private en-suite bathrooms, consistent nutritious meals, and a more engaging atmosphere, these reviews indicate Lennox may not meet those expectations without significant improvements. Prospective residents should tour during different times of day, inspect lighting, stairs, and exterior paths, ask about bathroom arrangements and meal preparation, and directly inquire about smoking/drug policies and enforcement as well as how management handles complaints.

The staff are there 24 hours a day, you've got nurses on shift through the day and night, and there's a 24-hour call and emergency alert system in every room, so if someone needs help fast, they'll get it. Folks living here can choose from studio units, one-bedroom units, shared suites, and private rooms, all with Wi-Fi, cable, and emergency call systems, and there's move-in coordination to help new residents settle in. Accessibility is a focus here, so the building is wheelchair friendly and there's help for those who need to transfer between beds and wheelchairs. Transportation can be arranged for errands or appointments. The staff monitor things like medication and provide individualized care plans, with the goal of supporting both health and social engagement in a safe, comfortable setting, and you'll see that this state-licensed community really tries to offer a helpful, relaxed place for seniors living in Denver County.
