    Homey clean compassionate care outstanding

I moved my dad here after a stroke and couldn't be happier - the small, homey facility is close to family, clean, and odor-free. The staff and nurses are responsive, compassionate, and communicative (they arranged cognitive testing, coordinated hospice/assisted living transitions, and found a place for him), and residents are active and cheerful with plenty of activities, snacks on request, and visiting musicians. My sisters and I feel relief and satisfaction - outstanding value and high-quality care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews of Assured Serenity Assisted Living 23 is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing a home-like, cozy atmosphere and high satisfaction with care. Families repeatedly noted relief and confidence after placing loved ones at the facility, citing good location and proximity to relatives as a logistical plus. Several reviewers specifically called out the availability of hospice services and the facility's ability to manage complex health situations — for example arranging cognitive testing, helping with recovery after a health event, and responding to urinary tract infections that affected dementia. Reviewers consistently praised the quality of nursing and medication management, describing staff as very nice, caring, responsive and communicative. The facility is described as clean with a lack of urine odor in many comments, which contributed to perceptions of high-quality care and hygiene.

Staff interactions and programming emerge as another major strength. Multiple accounts mention engaging activities, visiting musicians, staff-organized games, and services like nails, which together keep residents occupied and socially connected. Reviewers said residents “never bored,” are in good spirits, and that the environment feels friendly and homey. The outdoor areas (backyard and deck) and a cozy house setup were noted positively, giving a small-community feel that many families appreciated. Admissions experiences were also highlighted: tours were helpful, families felt welcomed during visits, and management/staff were viewed as communicative and helpful during transitions from hospital or independent living to assisted living.

Despite the largely favorable feedback, there are some recurring concerns to consider. Several reviews raise roommate-related worries, which suggests that shared rooms or roommate matching may be an area for improvement. A common note is that the facility can feel small for the number of residents; some families mentioned that other locations of the same provider are larger, implying variability in space and capacity across sites. A few reviewers reported an unpleasant smell at times, indicating sporadic housekeeping or odor-control lapses even though others explicitly noted the facility was clean and odor-free. Additionally, one or more reviewers requested more consistent availability of snacks between meals, pointing to a minor dining/service gap that could be addressed to enhance resident satisfaction.

In summary, Assured Serenity Assisted Living 23 is portrayed as a warm, well-staffed, and clinically capable small assisted living home that delivers strong hands-on care and engaging social programming. Families repeatedly express relief and trust in the staff’s responsiveness and nursing quality, and many note measurable health improvements or well-managed care transitions. The principal caveats are issues tied to size and shared-room dynamics, occasional odors, and small service details (snacks) that some families would like improved. Overall, the pattern of reviews shows a facility that provides excellent personal attention and a community atmosphere but could benefit from addressing space/roommate logistics and ensuring consistently strong housekeeping and food-service extras across all residents.
