    Welcoming spotless active supportive community

I moved my mom into this brand-new, spotless community and have been impressed - welcoming, home-like, well-designed with lots of nooks, a sunny courtyard and an active social vibe. The staff are warm, attentive and know residents by name; care, activities (meals, theater, exercise, worship) and the dining options are strong, and my mom has quickly made friends. The location is convenient and the amenities make the price worth it. It's not perfect - we've seen occasional staffing/communication hiccups and mixed food experiences - but overall we feel safe, supported and would recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive but mixed: many reviewers praise The Lodge at Greeley as a new, clean, modern community with caring staff and robust amenities, while a meaningful subset of reviews raise operational concerns—especially around staffing, management communication, dining consistency, and certain safety or administrative issues.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is that front-line caregivers (CNAs, aides, housekeepers, receptionists) are compassionate, personable, and form good relationships with residents. Multiple reviews highlight staff who know residents by name, provide one-on-one attention, and go above and beyond to meet needs. Specific staff (notably someone named Logan and the on-site provider Bloom Healthcare) receive repeated praise for responsiveness, compassion, and clinical thoroughness. Hospice and end-of-life support are also noted as strengths. However, these positive accounts are tempered by repeated reports of understaffing and staff turnover. Understaffing is tied to delayed assistance, occasional multiple falls, and a sense that help is sometimes slow to arrive. Several reviewers say staff quality is uneven—some team members are outstanding while others are less competent or less engaged.

Facilities and amenities: Reviews consistently praise the physical environment. Many describe the building as brand-new, modern, and very clean. The Lodge is noted for thoughtful design: multiple neighborhoods, nooks for quiet, large common areas, an enclosed courtyard, greenhouse, patio and garden areas, a big TV/theater room, game rooms, a sizable hair salon, and a small gym. Private rooms and well-designed apartments are regularly mentioned, and the site’s proximity to shopping and grocery stores is seen as convenient. A few reviewers felt the atmosphere was more apartment-like or that secure outdoor spaces were not fully developed; overall, though, the consensus is that the facility is attractive and comfortable.

Dining and food service: Dining receives mixed but recurrent commentary. Many reviewers praise the dining program—good portion sizes, creative menus, select-your-own options, desserts and drinks included, and a chef whom some found ‘amazing.’ Others report inconsistent food quality, frequent chef turnover, and occasions when the dining on the assisted living side differs from what memory care residents receive. Several reviewers explicitly cite “awful food” or “subpar dining,” indicating variability. This pattern suggests the kitchen and dining leadership may be a point of instability that impacts resident satisfaction unevenly.

Activities and social life: Activity programming is another strong area for many residents. Reviewers describe abundant offerings—music, worship services, exercise classes, bocce, concerts, movie nights, coffee times, and other social events that promote an active, vibrant resident community. Residents are often observed socializing, making friends, and appearing happy and engaged. A notable caveat: a number of reviews indicate fewer activities in the memory care unit compared with assisted living, so program parity across levels of care appears inconsistent.

Management, communication, and administrative issues: This is the most commonly cited concern. Several reviewers report poor communication or unresponsiveness from leadership (director or head nurse), difficulties getting answers from administration, and mixed or discouraging experiences during tours and move-ins. Examples include disorganized tours (entrance unlocked, staff unprepared, lack of dining tour), miscommunication about finances, and problems accessing the facility or staff on weekends. A few reviewers describe feeling dismissed or worried about retaliation if they raise concerns. Billing problems—including a pharmacy billing dispute after move-out—are also mentioned. Conversely, multiple reviewers specifically praise individual administrators and say they received timely updates and detailed follow-up; this suggests management performance is inconsistent and may depend on specific staff members or shifts.

Safety and clinical operations: While many reviews convey peace of mind that loved ones are being cared for, several serious operational concerns surface. Reports of prescription delays (a cited 48-hour wait) and a pharmacy billing issue raise red flags about medication management and back-office coordination. Understaffing links to delayed assistance and reports of multiple falls, indicating potential risk areas in supervision and response times. Positive clinical notes include presence of on-site medical providers, therapy included in some packages, and generally attentive CNAs.

Move-in, transitions, and admissions: Experiences vary. Some families describe record-setting, expedited move-ins with strong coordination and support, while others recount rough, unassisted, or disorganized move-in experiences. Issues include no help with move-in logistics, confusing tour information, and miscommunication about what is included in pricing. Several reviewers commend the admissions staff for being helpful and kind—the contrast again underlines variability in the process.

Patterns and recommendations: The reviews collectively indicate The Lodge at Greeley is a well-appointed, attractive community with many strengths—cleanliness, modern amenities, caring direct care staff, a lively activities calendar, and a generally welcoming atmosphere. Nevertheless, consistent concerns about staffing levels, management communication, dining consistency, medication/pharmacy processes, and occasional safety lapses suggest areas needing attention. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong environmental and interpersonal positives against operational inconsistencies. Specific suggestions based on the reviews would include: inquire directly about current staffing ratios and turnover, ask how dining and kitchen leadership stability is managed, confirm medication delivery/processing timelines and pharmacy billing practices, request clear documentation of what is included in pricing, and ask for references about admissions/move-in support and weekend access. Visiting at different times/days (including evenings and weekends) and speaking with multiple staff and families on-site could help validate whether the strengths described in many reviews are consistently delivered.

Bottom line: The Lodge at Greeley is frequently recommended by families who value its clean, modern environment, active community, and caring caregivers. However, recurring operational issues—especially around staffing, management communication, dining variability, and medication/admin processes—are non-trivial and commonly cited. The community may be an excellent fit when the praised staff and amenities are in place and working smoothly; families should probe the operational concerns during their tour and admissions discussions to ensure expectations match current practice.
