    Thriving mom, caring staff, recommended

I placed my mom here and she thrived — the staff, especially Solange, were wonderful, caring, helpful and communicated excellently. The location is convenient, the home is spotless and reasonably priced. My only caveats: furniture/ergonomics feel outdated and family communication and staff engagement could be stronger. I would recommend this community.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Solange at South Forrest are predominantly positive. Reviewers repeatedly highlight cleanliness, compassionate caregiving, and clear value for cost. Several comments emphasize that residents—specifically one reviewer’s mother—received excellent care and even thrived while living there. Multiple reviewers describe staff as caring, helpful, and wonderful, and many would recommend the community. Convenience of location and reasonable pricing are also noted as definite strengths.

Care quality and staff: The strongest and most consistent theme is the quality of hands-on care and the demeanor of staff. Phrases such as "excellent care of mom," "caring staff," and "helpful staff" occur across the summaries, indicating that caregivers generally meet family expectations for personal attention and support. While the majority of feedback about personnel is highly favorable, there are occasional notes about variable engagement. In other words, while many families find staff compassionate and effective, some reviews raise concerns that engagement can be inconsistent—potentially varying by shift or individual caregiver.

Communication and family interaction: Communication receives mixed but generally positive marks. Several reviewers explicitly call out "excellent communication" or "good communication from staff," suggesting that routine updates and responsiveness are strengths for many families. However, at least one review flags that "family communication could be better," indicating that there are intermittent lapses or expectations unmet for some relatives. The pattern suggests that the facility does communicate well overall, but there are isolated incidents or areas where consistency could be improved to ensure all families feel equally informed.

Facilities, furnishings, and ergonomics: Cleanliness is a clear positive—"spotless house" appears as a direct compliment. At the same time, reviewers note that furniture appears outdated or quite simple and that there are ergonomics issues that could be addressed. These comments point to a facility that is well-maintained from a housekeeping perspective but could benefit from updates to common-area and resident furnishings to improve comfort, accessibility, and modern appeal.

Value, location, and recommendation: Reviewers repeatedly describe the community as reasonably priced and conveniently located, and several explicitly state they would recommend Solange at South Forrest. The combination of strong care, cleanliness, and affordability appears to be the primary reason families endorse the community.

Management, activities, and dining: The review set provides little direct information about dining quality, activity programming, or specific management practices. Where management-related themes appear, they are primarily tied to communication and staff engagement. Because there is limited commentary on meals and activities, no strong conclusions can be drawn about those areas from the supplied summaries.

Notable patterns and areas for improvement: The dominant positives are cleanliness, compassionate caregiving, effective communication for many families, good pricing, and a convenient location. The main opportunities for improvement are addressing inconsistent staff engagement, upgrading or modernizing furniture and addressing ergonomic concerns, and standardizing family communication so it does not vary by case. Targeted efforts in these areas—such as staff engagement training, a furniture refresh plan focusing on comfort and accessibility, and a family-communication protocol—would likely convert the occasional negative comments into additional positives.

Bottom line: Solange at South Forrest appears to deliver strong, compassionate care in a clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located setting, earning recommendations from multiple reviewers. Families should be aware of some variability in staff engagement and communication, and may encounter simpler or older furnishings; these are the principal tradeoffs reported across the reviews.

    About Solange at South Forrest

Solange at South Forrest sits in a quiet neighborhood in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and offers a small community with only nine licensed beds, so the atmosphere feels cozy and familiar and the staff keep a close watch to make sure everyone gets help when needed, something that really makes it easier for people who want to age with comfort and support without getting lost in the crowd. Residents can pick from studio room layouts, and staff design care plans for each person, covering support with daily activities, medication help, and even specialized memory care for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, so family members know their loved ones' needs are met with understanding and care. The staff here get good training and help, and they're always around, so no one's left waiting, and with the small size it's easy to build trusting relationships, for residents and staff alike. People have access to a full range of services, including hospice, respite, and assisted living, along with skilled nursing, plus visits from doctors and nurse practitioners arranged right at the residence, so there's no worry about traveling out for regular care or emergencies. For those who need specific support, Solange accepts medical equipment, provides special diets and diabetic care, and partners with pharmacies and outside services, making complex needs less overwhelming.

Residents can enjoy a pet-friendly setting where dogs and cats are welcome, and there's a secure gate to keep everyone safe, so families can rest easier. There's a spa area where folks can get their hair done or simply relax, a bright beauty salon, and barber shop, and there's a ballroom, too, for gatherings and activities-these kinds of spaces are not always found in smaller places, but here they're included. Those who love the outdoors can walk on landscaped paths, tend raised garden beds, or watch butterflies and hummingbirds in dedicated gardens, while the enclosed courtyard and back porch offer a quiet spot to read or enjoy some sun. Solange offers a media center, computer area, library, TV lounge, and a movie room, and they make room for hobbies with an arts and crafts center and a woodworking shop, so there's always a chance to pick up projects new or old.

Meals come home-cooked, with choices to eat in common dining rooms, a private space, or at the café or bistro, and there's always a warm, familiar feel because folks eat together and staff try their best to make every meal fit residents' needs and preferences, including those with special diets. For each day, there's a busy activities program with social events, educational sessions, physical fitness, spiritual gatherings, and crafts, plus both on-site and off-site entertainment, so there's rarely a dull moment unless someone just wants to relax. There are both indoor and outdoor common areas, an open ballroom, fitness center, and regular devotional services, so people can stay active and make their days meaningful.

Memory care here comes with dedicated staff and specially designed spaces, and services start at set rates, but the facility hasn't shared current prices for assisted living or detailed information about its rates, so families will have to ask for specifics as these can change based on needs and room choice. Residents who need parking can find it uncovered, and transportation is complimentary for outings or appointments, adding extra ease for those who might not drive anymore. The whole facility has wheelchair-accessible showers, grab bars, and polished hardwood floors, letting people move safely and with a homelike feel, and every room and hallway has lots of natural light, which keeps the space bright and cheerful. Solange at South Forrest keeps things clean, offers a welcoming home, and focuses mainly on giving seniors independence, community, and attention in a safe, comfortable setting. Only two units are available at a time, which usually means spots can fill up quickly, but this also means every resident gets noticed and no one has to worry about being overlooked.
