    Resident of twelve years recommends

I've lived at The Wexford for 12 years and I couldn't be happier. The staff are warm, kind and truly go above and beyond - on call 24/7 and like family. My clean, well-maintained apartment has a full kitchen, balcony and tub/shower; dining is excellent (three meals, salad bar, upscale service). There are nonstop activities, outings, transportation, a large visiting room with full kitchen and pool table, plus assisted-living, end-of-life and specialty services through Columbine (hearing-aid and walker maintenance). I highly recommend The Wexford.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews of The Wexford are overwhelmingly positive, with a clear pattern of praise focused on staff quality, facility upkeep, dining, and available services. Across multiple reviews, staff are consistently described using words such as caring, kind, helpful, polite, and family-like. Many reviewers emphasize longevity of staff and loyalty, noting that employees remember residents’ names and form personal connections. This strong, stable staffing appears to be a central driver of resident and family satisfaction and contributes to the facility’s stellar local reputation.

Care quality and clinical supports: Reviewers repeatedly highlight that both independent and assisted living needs are well-covered. The Wexford is noted for offering specialized and end-of-life care and for its partnership with Columbine Health Services, which adds clinical and maintenance services like monthly hearing-aid and walker maintenance. Safety and emergency readiness are explicitly mentioned — 24/7 staff on call and 911 pull cords in rooms — reinforcing a sense of security. Several family members reported positive long-term experiences (one reviewer specifically cited twelve years), suggesting consistent care quality over time.

Facilities and apartments: The facility itself is described as elegant and well maintained. Multiple apartment configurations (1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom) are available and highlighted positively: reviewers like that apartments include full kitchens, ample living space, balconies, and full bathrooms with both shower and tub. Common areas receive praise as well — a large visiting-family room with a full kitchen and pool table, a library, computer area, salon, activity room, and a mini-mercantile are all mentioned as contributing to resident convenience and quality of life. The physical environment is frequently characterized as clean, welcoming, and safe.

Dining and food service: Dining is a standout theme. The Wexford’s dining room is described as upscale with a private dining hall option, salad bar, cloth napkins, and generally “fabulous food.” Multiple reviewers highlighted the pleasant dining experience and the availability of three meals a day (often optional), which together create a high-quality culinary impression. Small touches like free warm cookies at 3pm were singled out and contribute to a hospitable atmosphere.

Activities, social life, and amenities: Activity programming gets strong, consistent praise. Reviewers note a wide variety of daily activities, engaging trips, transportation to outings, and social opportunities that help residents feel connected. The community ambiance is described as friendly, with residents who are welcoming and social. Amenities like resident parking, guest passes, and transportation services make life easier for families and residents alike.

Management, personalization, and reputation: Reviewers repeatedly point to high standards of management and personalized attention. Examples include staff placing individualized photos on residents’ boxes, staff that go above and beyond, and a general sentiment that staff treat residents like family. The Wexford receives numerous direct recommendations and is called “the best in town” by some reviewers, indicating strong local reputation and trust among families.

Notable patterns and minor concerns: There are very few explicit criticisms in the provided reviews. Two neutral observations recur: a small number of reviewers described their impressions as “overall average,” and one comment noted that there were “no standout differences between communities.” These statements suggest that while The Wexford rates highly on many measures, some prospective residents or family members may perceive it as comparable to other quality options in the area rather than uniquely differentiated. Importantly, there are no repeated negative reports about cleanliness, safety, food quality, or staff responsiveness in these summaries.

Conclusion: In sum, The Wexford is consistently portrayed as an elegant, well-run senior living community with compassionate, long-tenured staff; comprehensive apartment and care options; high-quality dining; robust activity programming; and useful on-site amenities. The dominant themes are strong personal care, a family-like culture, and excellent facilities. Prospective residents should find the community appealing based on these reviews, while those seeking distinctive, singular features compared to other similar communities may want to identify specific differentiators during a tour.
