    Peaceful, engaging community, excellent care

I'm genuinely impressed - a lovely, well-maintained facility with unique, top-of-the-line rooms that's nothing like a regular rest home. The staff are amazing, available and supportive to residents and families, providing exceptional, timely care (on-time meds, nutritious meals), lots of social activities and friends, and real peace of mind - even during COVID when we were quarantined they kept us engaged with Zoom bingo. I feel physically better, have already picked a room for the future, and highly recommend this beautiful community close to my family.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly highlight high-quality, attentive clinical care and an exceptionally supportive staff. Phrases like "exceptional care," "amazing staff," and "best staff" appear throughout the summaries, indicating consistent satisfaction with how residents are treated and managed clinically. Several reviews specifically note reliable operational details such as on-time medication administration, which reinforces confidence in day-to-day medical oversight and routines.

Staff and interpersonal dynamics emerge as one of the most prominent strengths. Staff are described not only as available and supportive but as providing emotional reassurance to both residents and their families, leading to "peace of mind." Families mention that staff are supportive to them, that communication is good, and that this has enabled some reviewers to feel comfortable enough to plan for long-term residence (e.g., "room picked out for future"). The community atmosphere—"many friends," "social engagement," and activities where residents enjoy participation—suggests a vibrant social life and strong peer relationships among residents.

The facility and living spaces also receive high praise. Reviewers describe the campus as beautiful, clean, well maintained, and featuring unique, top-of-the-line rooms. Multiple comments explicitly contrast the community to more clinical or institutional nursing homes, emphasizing a residential, high-end feel: "not like regular rest homes." This impression is reinforced by descriptors of culture and values, such as "grace" and "integrity," and several strong personal recommendations from current residents and family members.

Dining and daily living are cited positively as well—meals are described as nutritious, and together with reliable medication schedules and available staff, contribute to an overall sense of well-managed daily life. Activities are noted and enjoyed by residents, which supports engagement and satisfaction. During COVID-related restrictions, activities continued in virtual formats (for example, Zoom bingo), which some reviewers singled out as an adaptation that helped maintain social contact.

The primary negative pattern is related to pandemic-era restrictions. Several summaries reference COVID lockdowns that led to residents being quarantined to their rooms and a temporary shift from in-person activities to virtual options. While reviewers generally remained impressed with the community despite these limitations, the quarantine experience and reduced in-person programming during that period are the most frequent and concrete concerns reported.

In summary, the reviews depict Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony as a highly regarded senior living community with strong clinical care, compassionate and responsive staff, attractive facilities, and an engaged resident life. Families report trust in the staff and a sense of security that leads some to plan for long-term residence. The most notable drawback stems from temporary COVID-related restrictions that limited in-person social activities and required room quarantines, but even with those measures in place, reviewers express overall satisfaction and strong recommendations for the community.
