    Clean home-like community, compassionate staff

I'm very pleased with this clean, home-like community - the staff are friendly, caring, and responsive, meals and activities are enjoyable, and I get proactive health updates and peace of mind. My only caveats: memory-care activities can be hit-or-miss and there are occasional staff shortages/turnover and operational hiccups that need improvement. Overall I'd recommend it for compassionate, family-style care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, driven primarily by the quality and character of the staff and the supportive, family-like atmosphere. Multiple reviewers emphasize compassionate, attentive caregivers who communicate proactively about health issues, provide hospice and end-of-life comfort, and frequently go above and beyond typical expectations. The staff-resident relationships are repeatedly highlighted — residents feel cared for, families feel reassured, and several reviewers describe the community as warm, loving, and respectful. Employees also report a positive culture, describing the facility as a great place to work, which aligns with resident observations about consistent, caring interactions.

The physical facility and services receive favorable remarks: the community is described as clean, well-kept, and inviting, with pleasant outdoor space (courtyard) and some rooms offering a farm view. Room sizes are noted as adequate by many reviewers. Dining is generally praised — several calls it excellent or the best — and the community organizes a variety of activities and outings that many residents enjoy. Practical conveniences such as a straightforward move-in process, responsive admissions staff, and transportation/drop-off-pick-up services are also seen as strengths that make transition easier for families and residents.

However, there are important caveats and recurring concerns to consider. Staffing stability is the most consistent negative theme: reviewers report shortages and turnover that have, in some instances, produced unorganized operations and service difficulties. These staffing issues appear to correlate with uneven experiences, particularly in the Memory Care unit. Several reviewers specifically call out the memory care program as needing more structured and engaging activities — some explicitly recommend against the memory care option based on their experience — while Independent Living is repeatedly described as more active and engaging. Capacity constraints in Memory Care are also mentioned, which can affect access and continuity of care.

Other less frequent but noteworthy issues include reports that some apartments need maintenance or aesthetic improvement and isolated complaints about declining or inconsistent food quality. While the majority praise the meals, a minority perceives a fall-off. Operational organization is generally praised during move-in and admissions, but a few reviewers mention disorganization in day-to-day operations tied to staffing instability.

Taken together, the dominant picture is of a community with excellent person-centered care, strong staff-resident relationships, a clean and attractive campus, and many activities and services that contribute to a positive resident experience. The primary risks or areas for improvement are staffing stability and targeted enhancements to Memory Care programming and apartment maintenance. Prospective residents and families should weigh the consistently high marks for staff compassion, communication, and hospice support against the reports of turnover and variability in memory-care activity programming and unit capacity. For many reviewers the positives — caring staff, safety, cleanliness, and a family feel — outweigh the negatives, leading to frequent recommendations of Addington Place of Burlington.

The place is pet-friendly, so you'll see furry friends around, and it offers dining services with meals in a welcoming dining room, housekeeping, and laundry so residents don't have to worry about the chores, and there's a salon or barbershop on-site, too, so haircuts are close by without needing to leave. If someone's got personal care needs, caregivers help with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and medication support, and if someone needs a nurse, wound care, occupational therapy, or podiatry services, those are available, and insurance for long-term care is accepted.

There's plenty of property amenities, so you've got a fitness center for folks who like exercise, an activities room for cards, games, or crafts, a whirlpool spa for soaking, guest parking for when family visits, WiFi, and places to gather for socializing or just relaxing. The building has an inviting, modern feel but with touches that make it comfortable like home, especially for those who might feel better in familiar, quieter surroundings. Residents who need memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia have support with activity, exercise, safe dining, secure courtyards, and special programming to keep them engaged, and they use the SparkTM lifestyle approach, which means life-enriching activities, chances to be involved, and ways to celebrate individual strengths. Folks needing help getting around have access to walking or wheelchair assistance, and if you need to get somewhere, transportation services are available.

There's a calendar full of events, arts and crafts, social opportunities, health and wellness programs, and regular education sessions, all meant to keep minds active and bodies moving, no matter someone's ability. The community focuses on keeping life affordable without skimping on care, and while it isn't perfect, residents often find a sense of belonging through group tours, Sip & Savor outings, and making use of downtown Burlington connections like Shop Downtown and Dining & Drinks Downtown. Addington Place teams with Frontier Management for staff training and procedures, and there's a focus on privacy, independence, and dignity, whether someone lives here a short while or long term, and respite care gives families a break if needed. The community's licensed under 2020 state requirements, has security and sprinkler systems for safety, and offers an entry fee of $2,000, and while there might not be every detail folks are curious about, what's here aims to offer a stable, friendly spot in Burlington for seniors to live, try new things, or just relax when that's what's needed.
