    Excellent care with minor issues

I placed my dad here three years ago and overall I'm very pleased. The newer, lovely facility is clean and well-designed with spacious studios, lots of public areas (salon, courtyard, memory-care kitchenettes) and many amenities; meals are tasty and staff are warm, knowledgeable and exceptionally caring. They were very accommodating with move-in timing and strike a good balance between safety and independence, though the pandemic limited activities for a time. Downsides: it's on the outskirts, has a somewhat hotel/institutional HVAC feel, and management was unresponsive when I reported a mice problem. Overall, excellent daily care and strong value.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with the most consistent praise directed at the staff and quality of care. Multiple reviewers emphasize that staff are exceptionally pleasant, accommodating, caring, and attentive; nursing personnel are described as knowledgeable and helpful, and several comments note long-tenured employees and three-year resident tenures as evidence of sustained satisfaction. Care is repeatedly characterized as compassionate and family-like, and specific examples include successful facilitation of family connections and flexible move-in timing that balanced safety and independence.

Facility-related feedback is also broadly favorable. Reviewers repeatedly note that the building is new or newer, well designed, and well maintained. Positive specifics include carpetless studio apartments, hotel-style air handling, and larger rooms for the price, as well as clean public areas. The community offers distinct memory care units with kitchenettes, a salon, a courtyard, and a variety of public spaces, and several reviewers compared those amenities favorably to alternative facilities. The location is described consistently as suburban or on the outskirts of town—appealing for a quieter setting but potentially less convenient for some visitors.

Dining and amenities receive steady praise: meals are described as appetizing, delicious, and well presented, with at least one note that menu options are tailored to local clientele. Reviewers also mention an active atmosphere when programming is running—residents socialize, activities are posted (for example, in the elevator), and the community can feel home-like and fun. One reviewer explicitly noted that this facility offered more amenities than another nearby option, and another cited all-inclusive pricing as a strong value point.

There are some recurring caveats and a few more serious isolated concerns to weigh. A minority of reviews raise an "institutional" or sterile feel in some areas, indicating that despite many home-like touches the overall ambiance may not suit everyone. Activities were limited for some residents due to pandemic-related restrictions; other reviews report many activities, suggesting timing and COVID-era policies affected experiences and that activity levels may vary over time. The most significant negative item is an isolated but serious report of a mice infestation and poor responsiveness from management when the issue was raised. That single report contrasts with multiple reports of helpful and attentive staff, indicating potential variability in management follow-through or in the handling of specific facility problems.

In summary, the review set paints Stoney Point Meadows as a modern, well-appointed senior living community staffed by compassionate and experienced caregivers who deliver strong, family-like support and good clinical care. The facility's new construction, amenities (memory care areas, salon, courtyard), clean apartments, and appealing meal service are repeatedly praised, and reviewers appreciate flexible move-in practices and efforts to keep families connected. Prospective residents and families should note the quieter, suburban location and recognize that programming and social activity levels were impacted by the pandemic in some reports. They should also probe management responsiveness and pest-control history during tours or follow-up conversations, since there is at least one report of an unresolved infestation and perceived poor managerial response. Overall, the dominant themes are high-quality caregiving, strong staff relationships, and a newer, comfortable facility with good value and amenities, tempered by a few isolated operational concerns to verify during any visit.

    About Stoney Point Meadows

Stoney Point Meadows is a senior living community run by Cassia, a nonprofit group that works with Augustana Elim, and sits in a well-kept spot where older adults find many types of care under one roof. Folks live in private, roomy apartments with full kitchens and safety features like zero-entry showers and safety bars, so daily life feels safe and easy, and there are common spaces like the atrium, art studio, Prairie Moon Theater, Seasons Pub & Bistro, and the Stoney Point Event Center for gathering and staying busy. The community gives choices between independent living at the Villas of Stoney Point and Independent Plus, assisted living for those who need a hand with daily chores like bathing, dressing, medication set-up, or managing oxygen, and memory care in a calm, single-level neighborhood that's barrier-free and has home-like furnishings to ease confusion and wandering, especially for seniors living with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia. The health care staff takes daily vital signs, manages medications, provides diabetes care, helps folks who are non-ambulatory or have incontinence, and supports stays that might be short with respite care, which comes with a furnished apartment, all meals, health services, activities, and therapy. Each resident gets weekly housekeeping, laundry, all maintenance, utilities including Wi-Fi and cable, meals planned by chefs for good nutrition, and scheduled bus rides to church, shopping, and appointments. The grounds have walking paths, secure outdoor places, a fitness center, a salon/barber, gathering rooms, and organized social events both onsite and offsite, with staff on hand all day and night. Visitors and families are welcome in a setting meant for healing and comfort, and the group also helps older adults who live at home with non-medical home care services by trained aides. Everything at Stoney Point Meadows focuses on wellness, safety, flexible care, and a steady daily life, and the community comes together with a spirit of compassion, thanks to Cassia and support from local investors.
