Holy Spirit Retirement Home sits at 1701 W 25th St in Sioux City, Iowa, where folks find a spiritual place shaped by respect, dignity, and comfort-people always notice that caring staff shape everyday life, especially the Holy Spirit Sisters who work as CNAs and CMAs, and you see the Catholic mission in how the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sioux City guides the home's goals. Residents use redesigned dining rooms and family lounges after the most recent renovations, and there's a beauty salon alongside shared areas like the recreational center and outdoor entertainment space, plus a chapel onsite with daily Mass for those who want to attend. The facility offers independent apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing rooms, and a separate memory care neighborhood for those living with dementia-related concerns, while the approach to care covers different needs, letting folks move smoothly from one level to another as necessary. You'll find a therapy center for rehabilitation that offers physical, occupational, speech, and music therapies, and there's help with eating, walking, bathing, and reading, on top of medical support like pain and wound management, tube feeding, medication monitoring, nutrition counseling, respite care, and hospice. Housekeeping, meal prep, laundry, maintenance, and transportation are all available, and companions help with daily life. The affordable housing options connect with the Evergreen Terrace Apartment Complex, and the independent apartments look out over Siouxland, giving maintenance-free living for those wanting less worry at home. Nurses, aides, therapists, and social workers focus on each resident and communicate openly with families, doing what they can to respect people's backgrounds and make everyone feel welcome. Assisted living gives nursing care at assisted living prices with neighborhood-style suites, too. There's attention to those living with memory loss, with a person-centered memory care area for safety and comfort. Staff value integrity and keep everyone up to date on what's happening at the facility, and residents find plenty of chances for spiritual practice, social events, and quiet time, all balanced with medical and daily living support. The Health Alliance Medical Plans affiliation connects residents to extra health services, and the Holy Spirit Retirement Home's links with the Iowa Health Care Association and the Iowa Center for Assisted Living mean staff keep up on training and standards, even though there's no outside accreditation. Telehealth supports care on site. Online, people can find out more through the Holy Spirit Retirement Home website or on popular social media, though folks always mention that the heart of the place is the everyday care and the feeling of community among residents and staff.

Excellent therapy, but negligent staff
I appreciated the top-tier physical therapy - very skilled, rehab-focused, and the facility is quiet and pleasant. However, I experienced staff dishonesty, missing personal items (including a ring) with no documentation or accountability, rude/unresponsive nurses and social workers, language barriers, refusals of basic meds, and my loved one deteriorated after falls. I would not recommend this facility.
