About Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation

Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation, sitting over in Denham Springs, runs as a for-profit limited liability company and takes care of long-term and short-term residents, usually averaging about 165 folks daily with space for up to 171 certified beds in all-private rooms, and you know, it's got a new building open now that's meant to be more comfortable for folks. Kimberly Delatte has managed the place since January 2011, and Plantation Management Company handles its bigger picture stuff. They offer different types of care like skilled nursing, convalescent care, Alzheimer's care, hospice, and rehabilitation services, and they help both those who plan to stay for the long haul and others only needing short-term help. There are healthcare, caregiving, and even home healthcare services, all aiming to give residents a sense of dignity and support every day, and the staff tries to keep a family-like, nurturing atmosphere, but, you know, it isn't without problems. Inspection reports show a total of 20 deficiencies, including 2 about infections, and nurse hours per resident per day clock in at 3.42, which is actually below the state average of 3.8. There's a serious deficiency found for not fully protecting residents from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and the state labeled it immediate jeopardy to residents' health or safety, which brings real concern, and there's also a problem about how they assess and plan care for residents-this one had no actual harm but showed a risk for more than minimal harm. On top of that, a complaint back in February 2025 ended with a $22,925 fine and one cited deficiency. Still, they do have a Life Enrichment department that tries to keep residents up-to-date with current events and involved with their interests, alongside a Culinary department making sure meals aim for both taste and nutrition. The building is new and private, amenities and activities are set up to work the mind and body, and the staff says they're working for integrity, compassion, and professionalism, but it's clear the facility does face some challenges and they're documented in state reports, so anybody considering it should ask plenty of questions and look close at inspection results.
