    Warm, trustworthy, clean retirement home

I live here and feel comfortable-staff are friendly, compassionate, professional, and treat residents like family. The building is older but spotless and efficiently run; rooms are cleaned daily and wound care is available. There are lots of engaging activities-bingo, games, even a band-that create a real sense of belonging. Nurses listen and give me peace of mind; I recommend this warm, trustworthy retirement home.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Consolata Home is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize satisfaction with care, staff, cleanliness, and social programming. Phrases such as "wonderful facility," "loves retirement crib," and "strong approval" summarize a generally enthusiastic endorsement of the community.

Care quality and staff performance are standout themes. Multiple reviews specifically note that nurses listen and that the staff are helpful, conveying a perception of attentive, responsive caregiving. Comments like "staff quality good" reinforce that clinical and day-to-day care are reliable and appreciated by residents and/or their families. There are no specific complaints about clinical care in the summaries provided.

Social life and activities are another clear strength. Reviews cite a "lots of activities" environment with explicit mentions of bingo, other games, and band performances. These references point to an active programming schedule that supports resident engagement and regular entertainment options. The presence of varied activities contributes directly to the repeatedly mentioned "sense of belonging" and a "home-like environment," indicating that social and emotional needs are being met alongside practical care.

Facility upkeep and daily services are also highlighted positively. Reviewers note that rooms are cleaned daily, which suggests dependable housekeeping and attention to living conditions. The combination of cleanliness, active programming, and welcoming staff appears to foster a comfortable, home-like atmosphere that residents value.

The primary concern raised across the summaries is that the facility is older. The reviews do not elaborate on specific problems caused by the age of the building (for example, maintenance issues, accessibility, or outdated amenities), so the mention of an "older facility" is a high-level observation rather than a catalogue of deficiencies. Given the overwhelmingly positive comments in other areas, the age of the facility seems to be a noted characteristic rather than a deal-breaking deficiency in these summaries.

There is little to no information in these summaries about dining quality, administrative management beyond frontline staff behavior, or clinical outcomes beyond the anecdotal sense that nurses "listen." Those gaps mean any assessment of dining services or higher-level management practices cannot be drawn from the provided reviews. Based strictly on the available content, Consolata Home presents as a well-liked, community-oriented senior living option with strong staff performance, solid housekeeping, and an active social program; the only commonly mentioned drawback is its older building, with no further specifics supplied about how that impacts resident experience.

    About Consolata Home

Consolata Home sits in a quiet area near Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA, and the place feels peaceful and steady with a clear focus on both health and spiritual support, so you'll find things here like Rosary recitations before activities at 10:10 am and 2:00 pm, and Mass celebrated in the chapel on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and the first Saturday of each month at 10:30 am, and folks often mention the chapel and Rosary services as special comforts. Consolata Home runs a senior care center that offers assisted living, independent living, memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, skilled nursing, and even transitional and hospice care, so whether a person needs daily help, short-term recovery after illness, wound care, or end-of-life care, the staff, including licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants available all day and night, can give respectful, gentle support. There's a physician-led rehab team that helps people rebuild strength and live as independently as they can, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy right on site, and the focus is always on giving each resident help to meet their own care goals, whether that means returning home or settling in comfortably.

Consolata Home maintains a licensed caregiver-to-resident ratio, with an active license verified monthly by Care.com, and has been providing quality nursing care since 1960 as a member of the Louisiana Nursing Home Association. Residents can choose from furnished rooms with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, and they get daily help with things like bathing, dressing, meals, and medications as needed. Companionship care and non-medical home care also get offered, and respite stays let families take a break while their loved one visits. The community has community-sponsored activities, some run by residents, with a full calendar to keep people busy and connected-plus things like a beauty salon, fitness and computer rooms, gaming areas, outdoor gardens, a small library, family-friendly spaces, and regular nutritious, home-cooked meals planned and prepared by chefs.

Scheduled transportation and non-medical transport are available, so trips out are simple to arrange. Residents take part in activities for social, mental, and physical well-being, and the environment aims to be homelike, gentle, and kind, with staff members who many describe as helpful, joyful, and welcoming. Both long-term and short-term stays are options, with extra care for those recovering from illness or surgery. Specialty services go further, including mission dental and senior vision care. Overall, Consolata Home works to meet a broad range of care needs in a steady, faith-centered setting for seniors and their families.
