    Caring staff, grounds and fees

I moved my mom to Creekside at Taskers Chance and overall I'm glad I did - the staff (Buck in the office especially) and maintenance are friendly, responsive and personable, repairs are done promptly, it's clean, comfortable, accessible for her power chair, conveniently near stores, and the scenery is lovely. My biggest complaints are the run-down, overgrown grounds with pest problems (carpenter bees) and some safety concerns, plus very high online/extra fees and occasional makeshift fixes. I highly recommend the facility for its caring staff and friendly residents, but be aware of landscaping, pest and fee issues.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed but leans positive regarding staff and daily living, while showing clear concerns about the condition of the grounds, exterior maintenance, and some safety and fee issues.

Staff and care quality: Multiple reviews emphasize that staff at Creekside at Taskers Chance are attentive, responsive, and caring. Repair requests are reportedly addressed promptly and courteously; reviewers repeatedly note polite and thoughtful maintenance people and "great prompt service." One reviewer specifically names a staff member in the office (Buck) as receptive to needs. Care-related impressions include descriptions such as "friendly," "helpful," "goes out of their way to help," "attentive," and "caring," and reviewers say they would recommend the community and that family members are glad they moved there. This suggests a consistent strength in personal interactions, responsiveness, and day-to-day support from the team.

Facilities, grounds, and maintenance: A significant and recurring concern is the condition of the exterior and grounds. Several reviewers describe the property as run-down and dirty, with unkempt landscaping, overgrown trees and bushes, and a lack of flowers, which lowers curb appeal. There are specific reports of makeshift repairs (for example, duct tape) that point to inconsistent or superficial maintenance in some areas. At the same time, other reviews state that repairs are completed, implying that interior or individual-unit maintenance responses can be good even when exterior upkeep is lagging. This produces a mixed picture: responsive staff handling individual issues, but larger property maintenance and landscaping may be neglected or inconsistent.

Safety and pests: Safety-related issues are raised in multiple reviews. Carpenter bees and bee stings are mentioned, with at least one report noting swelling and risk of injury; the presence of bees is a health concern for residents. Additionally, reviewers mention snakes on the property as a safety hazard. These items highlight potential environmental and pest-control problems that management should prioritize, since they affect resident safety and comfort.

Costs, fees, and management practices: Financial concerns appear in the reviews as well. Reported rent increases and "extremely high online fees" are described negatively and labeled "very bad" by at least one reviewer. These complaints suggest dissatisfaction with aspects of pricing and billing transparency or structure. While staff responsiveness is praised, the fee-related grievances point to management or administration policies that some residents or family members find problematic.

Community atmosphere and accessibility: Socially, the community receives mostly positive mentions—residents are described as really friendly and welcoming, with reviewers saying it is a "wonderful place to live" and noting comfort and satisfaction. One downside noted is gossiping among residents, which can affect social comfort for some. Accessibility is cited as a positive: the location is convenient to stores and accessible for power chair mobility, which is an important practical benefit for many residents and families. "Beautiful scenery" and a "comfortable" environment are also reported by some, indicating that parts of the property and day-to-day living spaces are pleasant.

Notable patterns and final assessment: The reviews paint a picture of a community with strong, compassionate staff and a friendly resident atmosphere, contrasted with lapses in exterior upkeep, pest and safety concerns, and dissatisfaction with fees. There are indications of improvement in service responsiveness and some reviewers explicitly recommend the community, but recurring comments about run-down grounds, pests, makeshift fixes, and cost increases are important negative patterns. Prospective residents should weigh the high marks for staff care, accessibility, and social environment against the documented concerns about property maintenance, pest/safety issues, and fee practices. Management attention to landscaping, pest control, exterior repairs, and clearer/fairest fee structures would address the most frequent negative themes in these reviews.
