    Compassionate, competent, clean, beautiful care

I found the facility beautiful and impeccably clean, with meticulously kept grounds and comfortable buildings. Therapy and wellness programs (including Parkinson's and Zoom fitness) were top-notch - rehab staff communicated progress and I saw real improvements - and the staff were consistently compassionate, competent, and welcoming. It's a loving, well-run community with excellent amenities and food; it's expensive and not perfect (I noticed one episode of unresponsiveness), but overall the care felt best-in-class.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is strongly positive, with consistent praise for clinical care, rehabilitation services, wellness programming, the campus environment, and the resident community. The facility is repeatedly described as "best in class" for rehabilitative therapy and physical therapy — several reviewers single out the rehab team and therapy outcomes as exceptional, noting clear and measurable improvements in mobility, balance, and overall energy. The Parkinson's-specific exercise programming and the leadership of the physical therapy manager (Terrie/Terri Daniels) are highlighted as especially effective. Reviewers credit organized therapy and fitness efforts with both physical and psychological benefits for attendees.

Wellness and activities receive particular notice for being both professionally run and adaptable to participants' abilities. Program organization by staff such as Lynelle Smith and Toni Davis is described as impeccable; Zoom-based classes and webinars expand access and allow residents to participate remotely. Reviewers emphasize that programming is inclusive and tailored, with effective techniques that lead to observable gains in mobility and balance and improvements in residents' mood and energy levels.

The staff and leadership culture is another dominant theme. Most comments describe staff as compassionate, caring, competent, and engaged — from rehab and clinical caregivers to dining and maintenance teams. Several reviews praise strong, visible leadership and note heroic performance during the pandemic. Communication from rehab staff about patient progress and responsive maintenance staff are specifically called out as strengths. The community ethos is described as loving and tightly knit; many reviewers say the facility "feels like home," pointing to friendliness, warmth, and an engaged resident experience.

Facilities and amenities are likewise consistently praised. The campus, buildings, grounds, and furnishings are repeatedly described as beautiful, neat, and meticulously cared for; reviewers say the property is sparkling clean and comfortably furnished. Dining also receives positive marks: reviewers note excellent food and friendly dining staff. Amenities and the overall campus environment are called top-notch, contributing to an impression that the facility offers a high-quality residential experience in addition to strong clinical services.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive comments, a few notable concerns appear and should be considered. Cost and affordability are explicitly raised — some reviewers describe the place as "absurdly expensive," suggesting potential financial barriers for prospective residents. A small number of reviews report troubling care lapses: an isolated but serious account mentions unresponsiveness by staff, a refusal of bathroom assistance, a left-on call button, and pressure to use incontinence products (Depends). Another comment notes that while Medicare-related performance is "better than average," the facility is "not perfect," indicating some variability in experience or outcomes. These negative items appear infrequent relative to the volume of positive feedback but are significant and warrant careful follow-up by prospective residents and families.

In summary, Brooke Grove Retirement Village appears to deliver high-quality rehabilitation and therapy, well-run and inclusive wellness programs, compassionate and engaged staff, and an attractively maintained campus with strong amenities and dining. The strongest, most consistent positives relate to clinical rehabilitation outcomes, knowledgeable therapy leadership (including specialty programming such as Parkinson's exercise), and a warm community atmosphere. Prospective residents should be aware of cost considerations and may want to ask specific questions about staffing levels, bathroom/assistance policies, incontinence management practices, and any recent isolated incidents to confirm that the particular care needs of their loved one will be met. Overall, the reviews indicate a facility that is exceptional in many respects with a few isolated issues that deserve due diligence before a decision is made.
