About Rivers Edge Assisted Living Inc.

Rivers Edge Assisted Living Inc. sits along the Ripple River in Aitkin, MN, and has been offering assisted living and adult day services since 2016 under the ownership of Scott Duffney, and when you walk inside, you notice a community feel with a small but attentive staff on duty around the clock, and what really stands out is how residents can take part in so many activities like games, arts and crafts, live music, plus scheduled outings and Sunday church services, with the staff making sure everyone can get to worship whether onsite or offsite, and they do a nice job supporting daily needs like bathing, grooming, medication reminders, and laundry, which is a relief for a lot of folks who want to keep up their independence but appreciate some help. There are forty-one rooms, including eight suites overlooking the river, all with private, handicap-friendly baths, secure locks, and even in-floor heating for comfort, and residents can keep a declawed cat if they want company because cats are welcome as long as they're spayed or neutered. There's a cozy lounge on the main floor with a fireplace and TV for gatherings, a beauty salon for haircuts and self-care, and a whirlpool open to all, so you really get a homelike feeling throughout. The gardens have flowers, a shaded patio, and spots along the river's edge for BBQs and bonfires, giving everyone places to relax or take in nature, and staff are always available for safety checks or emergencies, using a pendant response system and a monitoring system just in case something happens, which reassures families and the residents themselves. Medical services happen onsite, plus there's a nurse on staff who keeps track of health needs, offers skilled care, and oversees things like medication management, while transportation is set up for doctor appointments or group activities, so you don't have to worry about arranging rides. Meals are homemade three times a day with snacks in between, and help is available for those who need it at meals or with making appointments. Housekeeping keeps rooms tidy with weekly linen changes, light cleaning, and personal laundry every week, so everything stays clean and fresh, and there's always help nearby if it's needed. There's a focus on keeping up spirits through regular events, puzzles, social gatherings, and entertainment so nobody feels left out or bored, and the garden spaces, large lounge, and river view suites all help people feel at home, with privacy or togetherness as wanted. Rivers Edge isn't accredited by the BBB, but has been incorporated since May 23, 2014, and has always been family owned and operated, with committed staff who know most residents by name, and who work to support every person's health, safety, independence, and quality of life, whether someone needs full assisted living help, adult day care, respite care, or enjoys the steady companionship found within the community gathered along the riverside.
