    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the provided reviews is predominantly positive, with a strong recurring emphasis on compassionate, attentive staff and a clean, well-maintained facility. Many reviewers highlight long-term relationships — including stays of four years or more — which suggests continuity of care and staff stability. Families frequently report clear, reassuring communication from staff and management, and explicitly state that the facility's 24/7 care eliminated their worries. Descriptions such as "trusted and reassuring care," "outstanding care," and "staff treats residents as family" appear repeatedly and form a core positive theme.

Staff quality is the most consistently praised element. Multiple reviews call staff caring, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable about memory-care needs. Reviewers describe staff as helpful, attentive to residents' needs, and willing to engage with families. Management is singled out as responsive in several comments, and several reviewers note that the staff go beyond clinical care to create a family-like atmosphere. This strong, repeated endorsement of personnel is corroborated by statements about residents loving the care they receive and caregivers expressing pride in their work.

Activities and social life are another strong theme. The facility is praised for frequent programming, themed parties, birthday celebrations, regular entertainment (some mention twice-monthly events), and many opportunities for socialization. Numerous reviewers mention photos of activities and that residents "always have something to do," contributing to a perception of good quality of life for many residents. The small facility size is often framed positively — enabling individualized attention and a homelike feel — and many reviewers explicitly call the place a "home away from home."

Facility conditions are mostly described in glowing terms: "pristine," "nicest facility," "clean," and a "new building" are repeated descriptors. Rooms are called decent in size and the overall environment is often described as pleasant and well-kept. However, some reviewers characterize the atmosphere as "hospitalish" and "not homey," showing that impressions of the physical environment can vary by reviewer expectations or unit within the building.

Despite the many positive comments, there are notable and serious negative reports that create a mixed picture. Several reviews allege neglect, including residents being left sitting alone and a perceived decline in quality of life for memory care residents. One review references a death after a 46-day stay — a specific and serious concern. Some reviewers mention photos documenting "horrible conditions," and there are clear contradictions between reviewers who call the facility pristine and others who allege visible neglect. These conflicting accounts suggest variability in experiences or possibly differences across time periods, units, or specific staff on duty.

In summary, the dominant impression from these reviews is that Our House Senior Living - Austin Memory Care is a clean, small, activity-rich facility with a highly praised caregiving staff and strong family communication. Those positive themes are numerous and emphatic: compassionate caregivers, active programming, and an environment that many families find reassuring. However, the presence of serious negative allegations — including neglect claims, residents left unattended, and a reported short-stay death — warrants attention. Prospective families should weigh the strong positive consensus about staff and programming against the few but serious negative reports. Recommended next steps for an interested family would be to tour the facility, ask about staffing ratios and turnover, request details about any incidents and how they were resolved, review recent inspection reports or state complaint records, and speak directly with multiple families currently using the community to understand consistency of care across time and shifts.

About Our House Senior Living - Austin Memory Care

Our House Senior Living - Austin Memory Care is a specialized memory care community located in a quiet neighborhood at 1401 15th Avenue Northwest, with another memory care unit labeled as Austin Memory Care 14th St, and it's set up for adults 55 and over who are dealing with memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's, so if someone needs help with remembering things or needs a little more support with daily tasks in a secure, home-like place, this spot could meet those needs. The building allows some pets like cats and dogs and has a protected back patio with raised planting beds, an enclosed courtyard, a front porch with a sitting area, and it's made to be comfortable for everyone with hand railings in the halls, big windows in the private bedrooms, and wheelchair accessible showers and tubs. People can choose between single or semi-private rooms, and there are private bedrooms with closets, private entryways from well-lit halls, and large bathrooms fitted with grip bars for extra safety, which makes it easier for folks who have trouble getting around. The rooms let residents control their own temperature and have TV, kitchenettes, and personal call systems for safety.

The community has a Fireside Living Room, a cozy television lounge and activity area, and a community dining room that opens out to a family-style kitchen and snack bar, so there's always a spot to sit with friends or family, talk, or just watch the fire and relax, and the outdoor spaces like the enclosed patio give residents a safe place to enjoy fresh air. Residents get three healthy meals a day, snacks, and staff can help with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and medication, and they're around twenty-four hours a day if someone needs anything. Nurses, podiatrists, occupational therapists, and other specialists visit or work onsite, so medical needs, medication support, wound care, and physical therapy get handled, and if someone needs more temporary or short-term, respite care is available.

There are health and wellness activities, art and craft sessions, exercise in the fitness center, and "Our Life" resident programs that keep folks' minds active and give everyone a chance to join in. The memory care program is built for those with Alzheimer's or other memory concerns, with specialized staff on hand who are used to helping people with cognitive issues, and there are individualized service plans for each resident. Safety stands out - the building's set up so wandering doesn't become a problem, and it's got sprinkler systems, safety features throughout, and a strong focus on oversight and monitoring, so residents stay safe, eat properly, and get their medicine.

Onsite beauty and barber services, housekeeping, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable TV, devotional services, transportation for errands or appointments, and parking help make everyday life more comfortable. The building is smoke-free inside, pets are welcome in some parts, and residents are always encouraged to join assessments, tours, and give feedback about what works best for them. The community accepts both men and women in different units as needed and works hard to provide privacy, respect, dignity, and independence for everyone living there. The whole idea is to offer a steady, caring environment for seniors who need a little more help because of memory loss, and there's always a chance to stay for a short time if families or caregivers need a break. The service is part of the broader Our House Senior Living group, which has similar locations in several Wisconsin cities, so you know they have experience supporting seniors with different memory and care needs. Brochures, information, and tour scheduling are all available to help families decide if this is the right fit.
