About Watermark Senior Living of Fridley

Watermark Senior Living of Fridley was a licensed senior living community in Fridley, Minnesota that offered many types of care before it closed, and you'd see people moving around easily because the place had both studio and one-bedroom apartments, some pet-friendly, and wheelchair-accessible, with private or semi-private rooms that came with their own bathrooms, air-conditioning, and sometimes a nice view of the garden or patios if you liked sitting out in good weather. People who lived there got help with things like bathing, dressing, getting up and down, and taking their medication when needed, and there was a professional nurse on staff along with caretakers on hand around the clock, so residents could get personal attention or help right away. The place served older adults 55 and over, including those needing help because of physical needs or memory problems, with special care for Alzheimer's and mild cognitive issues, and if someone just needed a break or was coming for short-term respite care, they arranged that, too. There were independent living options if you were still able to do most things yourself, plus assisted living and memory care for when more support was needed, and the community was a CCRC, meaning you could start out on your own and then step up to more care as needed, and they also had adult day care, in-home residential care, high acuity, diabetic, incontinence care, and even long-term hospice for people facing end-of-life needs, which gave some peace of mind for families. Meals were part of the deal with resident fees-like an all-inclusive setup-and dining could be restaurant-style, with anytime dining, room service, kosher, low/no sodium, and organic or special diets provided, since they had a chef on staff. Folks enjoyed activities indoors and outdoors, and they could walk on garden paths, read in the library, enjoy regular movie nights, go to art or cooking classes, attend Bible study groups, and join other devotional or religious services with visiting chaplains or priests, and for anyone who needed to look their best, there was a salon and on-site beautician, plus Wi-Fi, cable TV, a community phone in each room, and regular transportation to medical appointments or shopping. Watermark Senior Living tried to make the place feel like home, with monitored indoor and outdoor spaces for gathering, handicap-accessible common areas, a kitchen, natural light, and windows in living rooms and bedrooms, and they let residents help run activities, which helped keep everyone involved. They charged an entry fee but kept things all-inclusive, so one price covered most things. Watermark Senior Living of Fridley focused on creating a comfortable place for seniors with different levels of care, and though the community is now closed, it once gave people a way to age in place with care that matched their needs, whether they were active or required full assistance.
