    About Southview Living Center

Southview Living Center sits about 15.7 miles outside New Ulm, Minnesota, and helps up to 12 residents with daily life as they age, and, with a home health care license (#22547), offers care for those who need it but not a full nursing home. Folks get their own private rooms and bathrooms, which is nice because sometimes people want their own space, and rooms come furnished if you want it set up, but you can make it your own if that's what you need. There's always staff on site both day and night, including two registered nurses, who help with things like bathing, dressing, medication, or even transferring in and out of chairs or beds if that's needed, and they also have an emergency call system in all the rooms for safety.

Southview Living Center offers assisted living for those who like doing things for themselves but need a bit of help, and they've got a memory care program for folks with memory loss such as Alzheimer's or dementia, and, because caring for someone with memory loss isn't easy, they're one of only 25 licensed facilities in Minnesota allowed to have a special dementia care license-plus, they support residents with mild cognitive challenges and even provide hospice and dementia waivers, so you don't have to move if your needs change. There's help with meals too, since they serve home-cooked food three times a day along with snacks, and they offer special diets like for allergies or diabetes, and for those who want food at different times, there are all-day dining options. Community activities go on every day, led by a full-time activities director, so there's always a chance to socialize, whether you're interested in crafts in the arts room, walking in the garden paths, heading to the barber or salon, or joining something in the dining room, and transportation is available for going to appointments or outings.

Everything-laundry, house-cleaning, assistance with dressing, bathing, and even dry cleaning-gets handled by the staff, and there aren't hidden fees for the extra things, which can make it easier to plan. Southview Living Center stays family-owned and runs with a small group of residents, which means folks often know each other and the atmosphere stays friendly. The center aims to give all residents care and attention in a safe, simple, and comfortable setting, helping with everyday needs as those needs change over time.
