    Kind caring staff, spacious apartment

I'm very pleased with my experience. The staff are kind, responsive and welcoming, nurses compassionate and great with family communication. The brand-new building is clean, airy and well maintained; my apartment felt spacious with a full kitchen and cozy bedroom. Meals in a lovely dining room are very good, and there are lots of activities and amenities (movie theater, private family room, transportation). Housekeeping, medication management and individualized, dignified care made the transition smooth-I would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Lilydale Senior Living is presented across reviews as a modern, well-maintained community with a generally positive atmosphere. Many comments emphasize the new construction, open and airy design, and a high level of cleanliness throughout common areas and apartments. The community offers a full continuum of care—independent living, assisted living, and memory care—which reviewers cite as a strength for families seeking progressive care options in one setting.

Care and staff are consistent highlights. Reviewers commonly describe nursing and caregiving personnel as compassionate, responsive, and respectful, with specific praise for individualized attention and an explicit focus on resident dignity. Several notes mention good communication with families and staff who facilitate positive transitions into the community. Memory-care areas are characterized as strong and caring, and particular staff members were singled out for positive interactions.

Dining and activities receive favorable comments. The dining room is described as attractive and meals as good; three daily meals and amenity-driven meal service are in place. The activities program appears active, with references to many scheduled events, a movie theater, private rooms for family gatherings, and transportation services that support resident engagement both on- and off-site.

Facility layout and practical site issues are mixed. While interiors and amenities are modern and well-equipped—some apartments include full kitchens and ample living space—unit sizes vary and some units are described as small. The campus configuration separates residential space from dining and activity areas in a separate building, which requires outdoor transit across a parking area; this arrangement can be inconvenient for residents with limited mobility and exposes them to traffic noise and freeway sound. The site’s hilltop placement also yields limited scenic views for some units, with portions overlooking commercial areas.

Operational notes for prospective families: housekeeping is provided but its frequency may be limited relative to some expectations. Although cleanliness is generally praised, one reviewer raised a concern about enforcement of hand-hygiene practices; combined with the campus layout, this suggests families should ask specific questions about infection-control protocols, mobility assistance for outdoor crossings, and housekeeping schedules during a tour. Communication from management is otherwise noted positively, with examples of staff who keep families informed and involved.

Overall, Lilydale appears to offer a high level of person-centered care in a new, amenity-rich environment with a strong memory-care program and attentive staff. Prospective residents should weigh the benefits of modern facilities and active programming against site-specific considerations such as apartment-size variability, outdoor crossings between buildings, and local traffic noise when deciding whether the setting fits their mobility and lifestyle needs.

    About Lilydale Senior Living

Lilydale Senior Living, part of Southview Communities in Dakota County, offers a mix of independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments for adults, and the place has been running since 2012 with 120 beds and a family-managed approach. Residents who live on their own get one meal a day, while those in assisted living or memory care get three chef-prepared meals, and meals come in a restaurant-style dining room with room service and options for special diets like diabetes or allergies if needed. There are independent living villas with different layouts, such as one-bedroom or two-bedroom units, and those have kitchens with refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, and stoves, along with washer-dryer facilities, individually controlled heating and air, Wi-Fi, and cable or satellite TV, and those villas come with a one-year lease and a security deposit of $2500. Assisted living offers studios, one-bedroom, and up to two-bedroom apartments with month-to-month rent ranging from $3742 to $5610, plus help with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and transfers, and every resident has access to a 24-hour response system, licensed RN, daily wellness checks, a health and wellness program, and building security with fire detectors and sprinklers. Memory care serves up to 32 residents who have Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory concerns, with late-stage care, studios and one-bedrooms, a $2500 deposit, and a secured environment with 24-hour supervision, dementia waivers, and staff trained for that level of need. There's also skilled care on site if someone needs more help than assisted living can provide.

Amenities cover the basics like housekeeping, laundry and linen services, and scheduled van transportation for shopping or errands, and the building includes an exercise and fitness center, a movie theater room, a garden with walking paths, a coffee shop, salon and barber shop, and spaces for arts and crafts or cards. The activity calendar is full of things like live performances, birthday and holiday parties, gardening club, religious services, games, outings, and both community and resident-organized events, and families can come for guest meals. Outdoor patios let people get fresh air, and the garage parking costs $60 a month. Pets are welcome, but there are some restrictions-only small dogs and cats are allowed, so it's best to call first about that. The building and apartments are wheelchair accessible, and all have emergency alert systems. There's support with medication management, scheduled transportation, apartment maintenance, moving coordination, and plenty of gathering spaces including a community room and library. Lilydale Senior Living provides information to residents about veterans' and tax benefits, insurance, and other funding options for care, and there are resources and planning tools available for families and caregivers. The community uses month-to-month leasing for most living options, has staff around 24 hours a day, and offers high-speed internet and telephone service in all the rooms, and they do daily coffee and cookies in the afternoons. There are both communal and private spaces, and each apartment or suite is set up for comfortable everyday living with security and easy access to help if anyone needs it.
