    Clean, helpful staff, but unsafe

I stayed at this group home - the facility was clean, meals were organized, rides were provided, and I was grateful for several kind, professional and attentive staff. However, I also encountered rude, lazy and manipulative employees and had safety concerns (I even heard about a shutdown/report). With inconsistent care and affordability issues, I don't feel it's worth the cost.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is mixed, with a clear split between strong praise for certain aspects of daily life at Ahran Care LLC and serious negative allegations about staff behavior, safety, and regulatory issues. Several reviewers emphasize positive lived experiences—clean, organized environments; reliable meals; transportation services; and caregivers who are professional, kind, and attentive. At the same time, a number of reviews raise substantive concerns about staff attitude and conduct, safety, and whether the service represents good value for money. These contrasting viewpoints create a polarized picture where individual experiences appear to vary considerably.

Care quality and staff: Staff performance is the central and most conflicted theme. Positive comments describe staff as friendly, professional, kind, and attentive to residents’ needs—language that conveys competent, compassionate caregiving and gratitude from residents or families. Conversely, other reviews accuse staff of being rude, lazy, and disrespectful, and even of manipulating residents. Because both sets of descriptors appear repeatedly, the pattern suggests inconsistency in staff behavior or variability across shifts or employees. The presence of both 'professional/kind/attentive' and 'rude/lazy/disrespectful/manipulative' descriptors implies potential issues with staff training, supervision, turnover, or uneven application of care standards.

Facility, dining, and services: Positive reports about the physical environment and services are fairly consistent: the facility is described as clean, meals are described as organized, and transportation (rides) is provided, supporting resident mobility and access to appointments or activities. These concrete service elements—cleanliness, meal structure, and transportation—are strengths commonly cited by reviewers and contribute to reports of an enjoyable stay. The 'group home' label appears in reviews and may reflect the facility’s size or operational model; some reviewers mention this in a negative sense, which could reflect expectations about privacy, space, or the institutional feel of the setting.

Safety, regulatory, and management concerns: Several reviews raise alarmingly serious issues: safety concerns, alleged manipulation of residents, and references to a facility shutdown or regulatory report. These items stand out as the most consequential negatives because they suggest potential noncompliance, resident harm, or official action. While the review set does not provide details about the nature, timing, or outcomes of any shutdown or report, the mere mention of such events should be treated as a red flag. Together with allegations of disrespectful or manipulative staff behavior, these concerns point to possible deficiencies in oversight, incident response, or management practices.

Cost and perceived value: Cost-related criticism appears in multiple reviews: some state the service is 'not worth the money' and raise affordability concerns. This theme suggests that at least some residents or families feel the fees charged do not align with the quality, consistency, or reliability of care received. When combined with the mixed reports on staff behavior and the safety/regulatory mentions, cost complaints amplify worries about getting value for money and underscore the importance of verifying what services are included, staffing ratios, and any variable fees.

Summary assessment and patterns: In sum, Ahran Care LLC elicits polarized feedback. On the positive side, there are clear strengths—cleanliness, organized meals, transportation, and instances of professional, kind, and attentive staff that lead some residents to describe their stays as enjoyable and express gratitude. On the negative side, repeated allegations of rude, lazy, or manipulative staff, explicit safety concerns, and mention of a facility shutdown or regulatory report are significant and should not be discounted. The coexistence of strong praise and serious complaints suggests variability in resident experience, potentially driven by differences in staff on duty, management responsiveness, or episodic incidents.

For anyone evaluating Ahran Care LLC, the review patterns indicate it would be important to (1) ask the provider directly about any regulatory actions or shutdowns and request documentation or corrective-action reports, (2) inquire about staffing consistency, training, and supervision to understand how the facility addresses the staff-behavior discrepancies mentioned, and (3) verify costs and what services are guaranteed to determine whether the pricing aligns with expectations and budget. The reviews point to tangible strengths in operations and services but also to nontrivial risks that warrant careful verification before making placement or payment decisions.

    About Ahran Care LLC

Ahran Care LLC runs a residential care home at 724 20th Avenue South in the Riverside and West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, close to Augsburg University and the University of Minnesota, so there are shops, restaurants, and evening spots nearby if someone likes to get out now and then, and the staff, from what's been said, are friendly and professional and seem to care a good deal, paying attention to what folks need and always being around because the place stays open all day and night with 24-hour staffing. It's a spacious place, clean and well kept, and offers large private rooms so residents can have some privacy and put their own touches on things, and meals and snacks are included, with food and daily routines organized to support every person living there. They provide rides to help residents get to appointments or outings, and assist with personal care, medication, and daily activities, including supportive care for people who face ongoing mental health challenges, and respite care's also available to help out caregivers who need some time to rest. There are things like yoga for relaxation, therapeutic activities, and ways for residents to engage in hobbies, make friends, and stay independent for as long as possible. Ahran Care LLC is family-owned and service oriented, with a focus on creating a safe and homey environment where residents feel comfortable. The staff have training and get paid well, and someone named Deqa Adan is the lab director, which is unique because the facility works with a database called LabProspects to track hundreds of thousands of labs specializing in moderate and high complexity labs with features like search, custom alerts, and more, although that's more in the background and probably doesn't affect daily life for most residents-still, it shows they value organization and keeping up with everything. The staff help with everything from meals to personal care, and they monitor residents' health and needs all day and night to be sure everyone's safe and comfortable.
