Restart II is part of Restart, Inc., a Minnesota-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults who have experienced brain injuries or have related disabilities. The program is designed to provide safe and nurturing environments through residential living and outreach services, all tailored to the unique needs of each individual. At Restart II, the primary focus is on helping individuals reclaim their independence by developing the basic skills needed for daily living. Through customized support systems and person-centered planning, residents are empowered to establish routines and strategies that foster independence, personal growth, and meaningful integration into the community.
The philosophy behind Restart II centers on rebuilding lives by reinforcing each person's right to dignity, quality of life, and the opportunity for gainful employment. The program operates with a deep commitment to encouraging self-advocacy and personal agency, guiding individuals as they make their own choices and gain confidence through social interaction and engagement in a variety of activities. As residents progress, they move along a continuum of independence, reintegrating into the community with a renewed sense of purpose.
Restart II is one of seven specialized residential sites operated by Restart, Inc. Each location provides a different level of care, tailored to meet the varying needs of people living with traumatic brain injuries. The support available through Restart II includes Individualized Home Supports with Training (IHS-T), offering both direct services and consultation. These supports extend into the context of residents’ own homes and local communities, ensuring a seamless transition between care environments and daily life. The overarching aim is to maximize personal potential, allowing each individual to live a productive, healthy, and fulfilling life in the Twin Cities area.
