    Warm caring staff, cozy apartments

I toured Oak Ridge Place and felt immediately welcomed by incredibly warm, caring staff who truly go above and beyond - nurses and CNAs available 24/7 and maintenance on call. The recently renovated, cozy apartments are clean, accessible (grab bars, walk-in showers), pet-friendly, and feel like home. Dining is excellent with scratch cooking and a welcoming dining team, and there are many activities plus twice-weekly bus service. Management was helpful and the move-in was smooth - my mom is happier than she's been in months. It's not flashy and there are some extra fees and occasional activity changes, but overall I highly recommend this friendly, small-town community.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Oak Ridge Place are strongly positive with a consistent emphasis on staff quality, a warm family-like culture, and solid care options. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the dedication, friendliness, and responsiveness of the team — from front-desk and management to CNAs and nursing staff. Several specific staff members were named positively by reviewers (for example Anna, Heather, Rodney, Amy, Katelyn and Brenda), illustrating that staff interactions are a standout feature. Many reviewers explicitly recommend the community and describe it as a "hidden gem," a "must see," or a place where residents and families feel safe and cared for.

Care quality and staff: Care quality is one of the most frequently praised aspects. Multiple reviews mention compassionate caregivers, 24/7 nurses, attentive CNAs, and staff who go above and beyond. Safety features such as emergency alert bracelets and call buttons are noted, as are responsive maintenance and management teams who address requests quickly. Reviewers describe the staff approach as warm, patient, and family-oriented; move-ins are described as smooth and welcoming. While nearly all comments about staff are positive, a few reviews note that some services changed (temporarily or permanently) during COVID-19, and there is some variability in individual experiences and expectations.

Facilities and apartments: Oak Ridge Place is described as clean and recently renovated in many areas. Reviewers note remodeled apartments with new carpet and paint, accessible bathrooms with grab bars and walk-in showers, appropriately sized rooms, and nicely laid out apartments. The community is repeatedly described as cozy, quaint, and home-like with a small-town/hometown feel. However, a recurring negative is that some common areas are older or more compact and less aesthetically pleasing than other parts of the property. Several reviews also mention that some apartments were undergoing fixes or renovations, indicating a work-in-progress in places. Practical amenities called out positively include indoor mailboxes, storage areas, laundry services, and pet-friendliness.

Dining and food service: Dining is another strong point. Many reviewers praise the dining program, noting rotating menus, "scrumptious" from-scratch cooking, and friendly dining staff/managers. The dining room environment is often described as clean, inviting, and the right size for social meals. At the same time, there are notes about the meal packages: the base meal package is described as minimal and there are additional ala carte options, which, together with separate utility charges, produces some unexpected or additional costs for families. A few reviewers also reported an isolated incident of missing a meal when arriving late, suggesting occasional lapses in meal service logistics.

Activities, therapies, and transportation: Activity offerings are widely mentioned and generally praised — music, bingo, puzzles, exercise classes, therapy sessions (with doctor approval), club-like events, and community outings. Transportation is provided (van service, regular twice-weekly bus runs, and Thursday rides to local stores), and reviewers appreciate the convenience of scheduled trips. A few reviews noted that some activities were discontinued or reduced compared with pre-move-in descriptions, which can be important for prospective residents who prioritize an active social calendar.

Management, communication, and value: Management receives positive marks for being informative, helpful, and efficient. Several reviewers felt the leadership made a strong, favorable impression and that staff communication was clear and responsive. Cost is presented as a positive in many reviews — Oak Ridge Place is frequently described as reasonably priced or good value — but reviewers also raise concerns about extra fees (electric, cable, phone) and the structure of the meal package, which can increase monthly costs beyond initial expectations. A small number of reviewers said the community was not the right fit for them personally despite acknowledging the facility's strengths.

Patterns and concerns: The dominant pattern is overwhelmingly positive feedback centered on people and care, with recurring themes of warmth, compassion, cleanliness, and strong food and activities programming. The most significant negatives are practical: the presence of additional fees, occasional service detail lapses (especially around meal timing), an older or limited-size look to some communal spaces, and the fact that a few advertised activities or services may have been reduced or discontinued (some of which reviewers attribute to COVID-era changes). Ongoing apartment renovations and small AC units were also mentioned as minor drawbacks.

Conclusion: Oak Ridge Place presents as a well-regarded smaller community with a strong culture of caring staff, solid nursing coverage, good dining, active programming, and practical amenities. It is particularly well-suited for families prioritizing personal attention, community feel, and value. Prospective residents and families should confirm current activity schedules, clarify what is included in meal packages and utility billing, and check the status of any apartment renovations prior to move-in to ensure expectations align with current offerings.
